Built a new PC installed latest version of windows 10 and GOG won't open when launched.

Is this an ongoing issue seems to happen on and off to people. Launcher works fine on my other PC so can't explain why it isn't working here.

I'll assume you mean Galaxy won't open.

Microsoft with Windows 10 is notorious for pushing updates that break compatibility and games. Remembering the malware quality of pushes to get people to go to 10, i really don't want anything to do with it. Especially with other things like putting ads into their programs and pushing the 'software as a service' crap.

Personally i suggest not using Win10 and use Win7 instead if you are going to.

Galaxy is black screen for me, same issue?

Given that I've not used Galaxy in a very long time, (being that it doesn't exist to my system of choice), I'd have to wonder if you could get it to log to a file somehow or open it via a terminal and watch the output; see what the error is.

How do you write on GOG, if the website won't open for you?

Or are the others correct in assuming that you confused a website (GOG.com) with a client (Galaxy)?

it is in the name , old games , not new ones

Look at the event viewer for problems.

Just to confirm my agreement with what other threads have said about Windows 10. It's those awful time-wasting features updates that cause the most trouble, in addition to the time it takes to download and install them. A lot of it is junk and bloatware.

This may not suit most people, but I have an offline PC where I do most of my stuff, using Windows 10 version 1909. This gives me an uninterrupted and peaceful experience free of updates. Security updates aren't needed. I don't like the later versions such as 20H2 for various small reasons but have to use them for my online PC.
