Surrender your future.

RUINER, a cyberpunk action shooter with a striking aesthetic and lightning-fast combat, is coming soon, DRM-free, to GOG.com.

Are you good at taking orders? How about dodging bullets coming straight out of some psychopath's firearm? There's a bleak future ahead of you then: just put on your unusually expressive helmet, grab any weapon you can find, and make your way through the violent streets of Rengkok, a cesspool run by corrupt authorities and bloodthirsty thugs. Don't question your mission - the mysterious voice in your head always knows best.

YEAH! :D

Any news on when it will be released?
last thing i read was something about "Summer 2017"(although that was said some months ago).
Looks like it's melee and shooting with WASD-movement + mouse-aim.

With some games, the scifi/fantasy setting is just lazy, but I really like the style here!

I know the feeling.

My purchased games on GOG are catching up to my purchased games on Steam. My Steam account is only so high because of all the cheap game bundles I purchased when bundles first started. My GOG purchases are intentional. Now my GOG games are growing at a decent rate, while my Steam games are barely moving. My only Steam purchase in 6 months will probably be Agents of MAYHEM.

jalister: Agents of MAYHEM.
I still don't get why this doesn't have co-op multiplayer.

On topic: Looks good.

I agree. This would be perfect if it could be played with three players. I'm hoping it will get a GOG release.
I hope you can turn off that slow motion crap.
Otherwise, it looks great.
So I am guessing it is a twin stick shooter? Looks nice, but would prefer a Diablo/Moba style controls.

Most likely, this was designed to be a single player experience from ground up. The game got bullet time effects and visual-novel dialogs before battles -- stuff like that simply isn't compatible with co-op. Also, adding co-op will radically change the level design. Me, I prefer it when games aims hard at a specific experience, either singleplayer or multiplayer, as opposite to those watered-down games that tries to be everything at once.

I do prefer single player games. I only have a few multi player only games, like Killing Floor and Left 4 Dead. Having said that, Saints Row 3 and 4 were great single player, but I also thought the multi player experience was great too. Credit to Volition for managing that. I played both single player to completion first, then played them both from beginning to end with a friend.

Now if the single player has to suffer for multi player, then dump multi player.

EDIT - This thread got derailed, but I am looking forward to Ruiner. I saw this on a gaming site, and I'm happy it will be getting a DRM free release. My Steam purchases have dwindled drastically in favor of DRM free.

Interested. Hoping for a good story and replayability.
This game continues to look cool as fuck. Wish we had a release date for it.
