Thank you very much for the appropriate title. This is true football.
Not the extremely violent sport played by steroid junkie Americans.
I thought it was Football as in American Football and then realized it's Soccer. I'm not interested in either as a sport, but as a management sim, definitely some interest, at least if I don't have to know who's who and best in what position (like with licenced games). Well, Soccer is everywhere and American Football is more elusive, or Ice Hockey. Would also be interested in Ice Hockey as a management sim.
I will keep an eye on this. The description sounds promising nonetheless.
Oh, an actual Football Manager, not that abomination that americans call football!
Wishlisted it at once!
A sports management game without illegal gambling aimed at minors?

What is this, the nineties?
I thought this would be an appropriate place, since the topic is football.

PC needs some good American Football games.

lupineshadow: Would love to see alternatives to FM.

Big red flags here though.

Unknown game dev studio - founded recently, no web presence, random page from three years ago suggesting they've made some web games.

Promising women's leagues as a "feature" - well if the leagues are automagically generated with fake names/teams then all you need is a female name algorithm and some code to handle pronouns.

No linux support for a modern game from a new studio. Why?

I'm still intrigued but I hope it is cheap if it is a project which seems to be relying on players to make the game work.

Also no Linux support = no purchase from me.
As far as I read it, it's a game created by a few of the first creators of Football sims: Gerald Köhler, Rolf Langenberg and Dirk Winter who created the German Anstoss series in the 90ies. So there is quite a lot of reputation and experience from the past within this company, Winning Streak Games. Anstoss was a great manager sim, better than Bundesliga Manager back in those early days.

As name rights of Anstoss are not in their hands, there will also be a new Anstoss 2022 coming this year, but developed by a different team and published by Kalypso Media who own the rights on Anstoss these days.

I wishlisted the game for now, let's see how it turns out. Look's like it might need a bit more polish, but their ressources may be limited.

StrongSoldier: This is the soccer manager who is going to compete with the football manager. In the forum where I speak it has been very well received that they add this game to gog.
I expect rather a german style football manager and thus no direct competition - more casual and light on the tactics side and otoh more chairman related stuff - building stadiums, financial stuff etc.

I'm glad that it will be released here and I am interested in this, but I'm also cautious. Gerald Köhler has done some awesome work back in the 90's, but that has been more than 20 years ago.

Its good that somone is at least trying
since i miss alternatives like Championship Manager
or Premier Manager
Fotball manager has been kind of dominant and hasnt had any real challengers in a long time in the Fotball manager sim genre.

I don't mind if the game has fake players and teams because that means we don't need to purchase a new version every 2-3 years .....Hopefully the gameplay is good.
Hoping this is good as I played Championship Manager/ Football Manager from the original on my 'Miggy in 1992 up to the 2018 version when I gave up as it is not as much fun as it used to be.

MegisED: A sports management game without illegal gambling aimed at minors?

Sports Interactive: "Am I a joke to you?"
Here are some excerpts from this preview video:

The creative minds behind EA Sports Fußball Manager and Anstoß - Der Fußballmanager are back on the scene with a new work: We Are Football. We were able to take a look at the title in advance in an online presentation and tell you in the preview what hobby coaches can expect here for the release on June 10.

WAF is an attempt to bring the classic german soccer manager into the 21st century. This is how Gerald Köhler, studio boss at developer WS, describes his latest game.
In short, they want to offer a faster and slimmed-down gaming experience than, say, Football Manager.

The basic version of the game does not have any licenses. If you still want the full load of authenticity, you can buy a paid DLC on release. It will offer the real names and logos of the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga (men's and women's), the DFB Cup and the Super Cup.

The match tactics can be adjusted individually with various sliders, even dynamically during the running match. A match can be displayed in different speeds and views. Most of the time you get a kind of live ticker shown. However, during special events the game switches to a scenic view.

"It was important for us that the gameplay is fast," reveals Köhler. That's why a match lasts a maximum of 2 minutes. You should be through an entire season in 2.5 to 3 hours. "The focus of WAF is clearly on long-term club development," says Köhler. "On building a club over several decades."

You're not allowed to take on the job of a national coach in the game. But the European Championship and World Cup do play a role when your players are nominated to the national team and their market value is increased.

Crosmando: We Are Soccer?
I get you. Once a Canadian asked me if I liked footbal. I asked him which one he meant, soccer, rugby, American or footie.

Although, to be sure, for the largest portion of the world population, football means what British call soccer.
