HanselPete: Command and Conquer 3 is my favorite C&C Title.
avatar
MarioFanaticXV: I loved the game, but had to stop midway since the patches have killed the single player mode, and I couldn't find any way to revert to earlier patches in Origin.
avatar
HanselPete: I played trough all campaigns with hard settings, even with the patched versions that makes some missions really dificult. I'm not sure how to revert patches in origin version, but in the retail version you only have to remove the .SkuDef file of the version you don't want from the installation folder. Then it should start with the lower version. You can also edit these files or possible make a mod that not use the files from the patches.

darthspudius: Kane's Wrath is its own game.
avatar
HanselPete: Kane's Wrath is not completly its own game. The Retail version need also Tiberium Wars installed to start. But Kane's Wrath has indeed all the files it needs to start in the installation folder. It don't use Tiberium Wars Content.
And Kane's Wrath has a full NOD Campaign. No new GDI or Scrin Mission.

And it should also be mention that the retail version of C&C 3 use Securom. So a cd-crack is needed to play it on updated Windows.
That is a first for me. I have never installed Tiberium Wars to play Kane's Wrath.

l0rdtr3k: Is someone here talking shit about my favourite RTS franchise? And don't you guys dare talk ill about Read Alert 1 and Tiberian Sun.
But seriously,C&C 3 is one of the best entries in the franchise and I hate to admit it but I really like Tiberian Twilight and RA3.
Talk shit about C&C and you come on here saying C&C 4 and RA 3 are good?! Ha! Hahahah! *sigh* Stone them guys! C&C 4 is nothing an insult to everything C&C and their fans.

I thought it was a breath of fresh air to the series and I loved how camp RA3 was.

RA 3 wasn't that bad to be honest. But C&C4 was utterly appalling. A lot of trendy shite thrown into a series that didn't want or need it.

I'm talking about gameplay not that ridiculous copout EA decided to call an """ending""",I prefer the ending of MA3 to that travesty.

The game play in general was a decent idea but I think the way they pulled it off was awful. The "base building" would of been better suited if they went a more Starcraft approach.

I think that they wanted to do something like World in Conflict with the "base roles" but it kinda feel flat.

That is an understatement lol. I liked the big robots design though. Shame really.

THe robot desings were bad ass but I blame EA for most of the game's shortcomings.
BTW,RA2+Yuri's Revenge is the best entry entry of the franchise.

From a technical stand point I agree. But the design and story of the original game is still my favourite. I prefer that gritty realistic approach. Unfortunately not one of them brought that style back.

That's why Tiberian Sun is my favourite of the Tiberium Universe.

I loved that game when it came out. It still looks great for the most part. Some of the sprites could do with a upgrade. Still runs nice.

Runs like a dream on Win10 and the acting is one of the best from the C&C games.
James "Darth Vader" Earl Jones.

There was only one .SkyDef file in there for the most recent patch; I tried removing it, and the game gives me an error saying it can't find the patch data for v1.0, and won't start without it.

KiNgBrAdLeY7: Nope. As i posted before, i keep my boxes and especially discs, in mint, top condition, as if they haven't been touched by the hands of a human... And other people claim a similar problem on same game's disc (on other forums). And other games of EA malfunction at installation, much like the first "Battle for Middle Earth", which required a patch and procedure to repair installation, too.
avatar
darthspudius: A disc does not needs to be scratched or physically damaged to be faulty. I have had a few cd albums, games and movies over the years that were simply bad presses. It happens.
The install issue is due to a specific Windows update hotfix that breaks the installer application. The update is not very old, 1 year give or take, so this is actually a recent issue. I had accidentally found out about it on LibreOffice forums when looking for a solution, their installer was also affected with the same symptoms.

Anyway, if any of you guys still need the fix, I can dig out that info again. I had actually posted it on the C&C forums to help some folks, but looks like the forums went offline a few months back.
