WARNING: This is just a joke thread as a semi protest to what is happening right now, don't take it seriously, or do, whatever. GOG need to hear us.

This survey is simple dear GOG community.

From 0 to 5, how much you agree with the following points?

1 - Cut Galaxy support completely and ask the help from experienced community members (Sude and Timboli for example) and call them to work with Heroic Launcher devs (I use Heroic and their job is amazing), officially supporting them any way you can;

[ ] 0 [ ] 1 [ ] 2 [ ] 3 [ ] 4 [ ] 5

2 - Stop the Amazon Luna service as apparently Amazon themselves are not sure what to do with it and it seems as a time and money loss to the core customers of GOG and to the crowd, simply because cloud gamers are actually on Microsoft;

[ ] 0 [ ] 1 [ ] 2 [ ] 3 [ ] 4 [ ] 5

3 - Stop the preservation program completely for review and also review the Offline Installers that were affected, using it as a Marketing propaganda too: "We want to solve the problem of Preserving games, but we admit it is hard and we screwd up', We're sorry, help us to improve and we will listen!" giving users the Offline Installers rollback and updating the outdated ones, creating parity with Galaxy files, as a proof that you guys are indeed focusing on preserving games forever;

[ ] 0 [ ] 1 [ ] 2 [ ] 3 [ ] 4 [ ] 5

4 - Communicate better with the community on forums, reddit and even maybe a full open Discord for everyone (although I don't like Discord, I understand its the fastest way to communicate directly with a user base);

[ ] 0 [ ] 1 [ ] 2 [ ] 3 [ ] 4 [ ] 5

5 - Continue the partnership with Youtube and Twitch content creators that focus on Old/Classic/Indie games and have good communication with many indie devs, also focus on the SpeedRun community, they're HUGE and when they're appreciated, they return the favour: TheSphereHunter, Avalanche Games, Eurothug4000, GamesDoneQuick, J's Reviews, Josh Strife Hayes, KBash, KingK, Mandalore Gaming, Under The Mayo, ThaRixer, TheGamingMuse, for example... There are many others that would also talk about GOG releases for free I think, but this would need to be talked with them, and you guys are good with that as we've seen with the recent Partnerships with TheSphereHunter and Josh.

[ ] 0 [ ] 1 [ ] 2 [ ] 3 [ ] 4 [ ] 5

6 - Don't become Microsoft, Ubisoft, Steam, and whatever, with subscription programs and the likes that would hurt the core principles of what Good Old Games once was!

[ ] 0 [ ] 1 [ ] 2 [ ] 3 [ ] 4 [ ] 5

GOG survey really making people unhinged. See like GOG has mastered that skill.

Can we keep this all in one thread?

Just checked my mail, saw a survey and it was like 5 questions about occupation, age, how long you spend on games etc. Haven't seen anything related to any subscription service or whatever the storm on the forums is about. Have I missed something or did they modify the survey?

Well, yeah, quite a number of pages. But it may stop if it doesn't like your initial answers, I assume the one about occupation first of all. There was a screenshot of the proposed perks posted too for those who don't get that far.

Strange. It did say it was going to take 15 minutes to fill out so I was quite surprised it ended after 5 (IIRC) questions. Wonder what I did that made it go "Nope, don't care about you" :P

It was:
Age
Occupation
What you do in your free time (up to 5 things).
How long do you spend gaming a week
What is your main gaming machine.

Got kicked out after that. I assume it was the survey titled: "GOG: hot or not?"

EDIT:
Also country at the start.

I took the survey and let GOG know how I don't want subscriptions.

just went through the options for the first time and i have to say.. I would like to see my nickname in other people's high score lists ;-)

Of course not for the highest score ever, just to show i'm also a PREMIUM member :p and who knows, maybe others will feel good when confronted with other people's low scores

Include DRM into all yours offered games. To jump onto "everybody loves DRM" wave. :)

Was the survey creators under the influence when making it? Why would anyone want to pay for that? I expressed in the survey that none of the offerings are worth a subscription.

If GOG wants subscription it should be like something with Humble bundle when you get few games a month. Yes, you get to keep those games from humble bundle once you unsubscribe but that's really all GOG has to offer for subscription.

If they start hiding features behind a subscription then you can say goodbye GOG. No one will pay for that.

Personally, and at the end of the day, it's really whatever. IDGAF what GOG does because they will do as they please anyway. I never truly expected them to last, or even be reasonably able to compete in the marketplace. That being said, my family and I have had almost 6 years to amass a collection that cannot be played in a single lifetime (over 1,000 titles across three accounts).

It's a shame to see GOG falling apart before our eyes, but it has been held together with paper tape and Elmer's glue for a long time now.. They may be able to fix the situation they are in...or maybe not. They are rather unpredictable and seem to scrape by and cling to life just barely somehow. Only time will tell.

Either way, I'm fine with whatever happens. We here all have somewhat outdated PCs running 10th gen Intel i9s, and the RTX 3070-3090 with 32 GB of DDR4 CL16. Just now are games on GOG exceeding those specs. Well, let's not mention CP2077. So, we have a vast library, no titles exceeding specs (except that one), and no need or way to upgrade because we are using Alienware Auroras (Dell).

In other words, there really is no reasonable need to purchase anything else unless desire overpowers logic. We're good, have the appropriate tech, no need for the net, and all titles being archived to M-disc.

Best way to short-circuit the survey - say you are 0-17 years old.

Survey ends: thank you for your submission.

Incidentally GOG is under 18 years old.

Cut Galaxy loose and stop dev on it, but let goglodytes still be able to use it.
Don't use or know what Luna is, so n/a.
Stop the strawberry alarm clock preserving and (maybe) keep relying on the gamer community to preserve games.
Communication? Meh, they hardkly ever do it right. Just provide a good product at a resonable price like other stores.
Getting 'influencers' to help shill games might be a good idea.
As for Subs

What is happening right now? Did I miss something?

Boredom is as boredom does. I'll play along....

1. I don't use Galaxy, so I don't care.

2. I don't know what Luna is. Don't care.

3. I'm not sure about this. Are they patching already existing games, or giving an alternative 'patch' to download, that corrects compatibility issues? If it's the latter, than I am for it.

4. I have no feelings about this. The staff are probably busy, no? And moderators here are just volunteers. They have lives too ya' know.

5. I don't know anything about this....

6. 5 definitely. That's the only reason I ever came here, was DRM free games and offline backups. That's why I don't do Steam. GOG seems (seemed? hope it's not past tense) to care about games. As Interplay used to say, "by gamers, for gamers". That is where I think GOG is above the rest, and I hope it stays that way.
