I've heard that apparently some users can access the Epic store through GOG Galaxy, so does that mean such users can access itch.io indirectly through Galaxy?

Also, imagine if we had the following:
* itch.io games buyable through Galaxy. (Would be really nice for those who might not like some curation decisions.)
* GOG Galaxy available via the Epic store.
* Epic and GOG Galaxy available via itch.io

So, any thoughts?
(Of course, I expect there will be some people who don't like these ideas. With that said, it appears that itch.io will still be available via its own website, and Epic won't be taking a cut of sales.)
I would be fine with an itch.io integration into Galaxy, although I doubt GOG would want that - itch.io has a ton of hardcore "adult" stuff, could be a legal problem in many countries, because GOG would basically "endorse" those. And I wouldn't want a filtered ("curated") itch.io selection, Galaxy or not.

I'm not fine with Epic in Galaxy, unless it's guaranteed that all games from the Epic store sold from there are completely DRM-free and can install and run without the client.
I don't use the launchers but if EPIC had DRM-FREE copies available in the same fashion that GOG and itch.io has, I would give them a shot.
I read somewhere that EGS only hosts the exe of the itch.io app, so it's not an integration like Galaxy has with Steam, for example. Didn't test it, so I don't know if it's true.

Honestly, I'm not a fan of launchers within launchers. Ubisoft games on Steam require Uplay Connect, so you have to go through two apps, 2 different accounts, 2 points fo failure, etc. It's convenient to have everything in one place, though, but I'm not a fan of this.
The itch.io launcher just acts as a web portal, you can see the web pages and access games just like on a browsers but with benefits of more account integration and automatic updates and access to bonus and exclusives from purchased games.
Can itch.io still be accessed by itself or are they intertwined with Epic now?

Everything seems normal on their website, at least at first glance. As long as it remains so it's fine, I guess, but I'm really not happy about the way Epic's tentacles are spreading.

It can. itch.io is completely independent of Epic.

According to the itch.io creator, Epic were the ones that reached out to have the app on their store. And like he says, it was probably because of the lawsuit against Apple:

Agreed, I use to just dislike Epic after Tencent got in with them. Don't get me wrong I still hate Tencent for a variety of reasons, mainly them trying to dig their hands into my pocket in one way or another, through Tencent pictures partnering with an American or Europe company in a co-production. If not this they're buying shares of Platinum or Marvelous. Even then I wouldn't care if they're Chinese except for 2 reasons: 1.They will compromise/censor the product to sell in China. The detective in the SMT Nocturne remaster is being left out because of his Taisho era dress even though Chinese fans of SMT like the character too. 2.All these Japanese companies whined about Western companies taking them over or were concerned about them buying stock. You really think a Chinese company won't be more controlling and a concern, even possibly compromising the quality of your product materially(talking about Sharp here) or how about #1 up there?

With Epic themselves I encourage ANYONE who can avoid it not to use the Unreal Engine in development after finding out they don't just take a fee for use but get a royalty on every game you sell. I understand the former but the latter makes my blood boil. Is there no opportunity for devs. to license Capcom's MT Framework? At one point Capcom was letting some Japanese devs. use it.
Nothing is ever done without a reason. Make no mistake, every move is calculated.
Also, the world needs another bizarre rant from Sweeney, preferably on twitter.
