Hello everyone,
I would like to know which launcher file allows to keep in memory the location of the games installed locally (those where the executable has been assigned by hand)

It's quite annoying to manually update the 130 games on my pc when I reinstall Windows or just have to reinstall the launcher to update it when it doesn't work :(

Thanks All :)

Not really sure what you're asking honestly, but I can tell you as long as the games are in the current Galaxy default games folder then it will find them and instantly install them once you click.

If they are elsewhere Galaxy will indeed redownload and reinstall them.

Or you can just use the Scan & Import feature...

I'm talking about the button "add a game yourself" which is made up of games that cannot be found in the launcher (Epic, Gog, Steam . . .)

What do you mean "Assigned by hand"? As in non-GOG game? Like from a CD or another DRM-Free store?

If they are all GOG games and you keep them on a different drive/volume than Windows, then just go to Settings > Installing, Updating > Game installation folder and set it to what it was before you reinstalled Windows.

There's also the Scan folders for GOG games option under "Add games & friends.

If they are all from Epic and Steam, you may be better off just using integrations. Settings > Integrations. That way all those games will be added by having your account scanned, no need to manually point to executables one by one.

You can add games manually in Galaxy, mark them as owned and set a path to the executable.

That affects CD versions, DRM free games (or better: games bought on a unsupported platform) and illegal copies :)

@OP for all your settings, backup
%localappdata%\GOG.com\Galaxy

I know that you can do that, I was just not sure what method the OP was talking about.

Also there's hardly anything within %localappdata%\GOG.com\Galaxy that gets updated when you add a custom game.
Most of the changes happen in %ProgramData%\GOG.com\Galaxy\webcache and %ProgramData%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage. So it may be a good idea to backup %ProgramData%\GOG.com\Galaxy too.

Personally though, I never saw the point of this feature. Start Menu is my favourite "launcher" lol.

I didn't even know Galaxy had that to be honest. I never used it with Steam because it doesn't keep a record or anything, it's not really in your library.

Anyway yeah OP, use the integrations thing. All your Epic and Steam games will then show in Galaxy. I dislike that for various reasons but you might love it.

Ah, I forgot about programdata.

I came to like that option. Now that I use Galaxy more than I used to, I find it quite convenient to have that stuff there too, including Fireflower, Gamejolt and itch.io games.

What I still miss, is the option to specify the executable for Steam and Epic games, Galaxy says "managed by Steam/Epic/Whatever" and launches the games, sending it's ID to the according launcher. But there are plenty of Epic games and some Steam games that don't require the according launcher and could be started directly. To do so, they have to be additionally added manually.
