If for whatever reason you started a game but now you cannot or do not want to complete it, post here to let everyone know :)!
It would be a good idea to link back to last year's thread, so that people can reference past contributions:

PUBG ! Because they banned me totally innocent. Unbanned me after 20 days after i made request to delete my account from steam . Few more days (10) and i was totally gone , they acknowledged it was a mistake ... yes sure !
Pathologic 2. Loving this game, got to the end of day 7...then my game got corrupted and will no longer load my recent saves. Just sits there forever on the load screen. Tried uninstalling, reinstalling, retrieving saves from the cloud. It seems like I broke the game by doing something out of order...then continuing on and saving. Now the game rejects the saves from that point. My option is to restart- not happening because I cannot trust it won't just happen again and waste even more time.
Best game I've had to quit for a long time.
Dark Messiah of might and magic, really wanted to play this game but it just crashed so much that I had to refund it.

Too bad, it's a great game. I just recently played through it again.

Do you had any crashes?
Been trying to finish Control for months but don't think I ever will. It's just an extremely frustrating game for me, with respawning enemies and tough bosses that force you back to a save point sometimes pretty far away. Also even on a 2070 it just doesn't play well on my PC. Annoying.

It has few frustrating bosses, I agree, but please give it another chance. The story is superb till the end and replayability is very high. Two DLCs with more content are in the works too.

I believe a few, but not too many. Apparently the game can crash randomly with certain higher graphics settings, which is why speedrunners always play on lowest settings, but I played on highest settings and don't recall a lot of problems. Not sure if I did anything special to make it run...

i've been playing that on xbox and i agree with some of the bosses. they could have alleviated a lot of aggravation by putting a control point closer to the bosses so you don't have such a long run with respawning enemies in between attempts.
it discourages experimentation sometimes. like i hit a boss and fail a couple of times, so i decide i'll try a wildly different tactic or different build/ weapons. that's a 45 second run to the boss (if nothing has respawned) and then 45 seconds of attempting what turns out to be an abysmal approach, add in the load time after death and it's all just a bit too long for each attempt.
So you stick with what you're comfortable with because maybe you can just push through a little more or get that one lucky break just so that it's not 45 seconds between respawn runs, but more like 1 minute 30 seconds instead :/

that said i do plan on forging ahead with it after a small break. i really enjoy the setting and story.
Cobi Treasure Deluxe (2013) (Linux/Proton)

Works fine under Steam/Proton (however in windowed mode only) and that's probably the only good thing about the game. We all like tetris, but this clone is just not fun at all. It also seems to be a bit too fast for small kids.

List of all games completed in 2020.

Daikatana.

Half an hour of cutscenes, then fighting little frogs and mosquitos, and then some hidden machine gun or something killed me. And you can't save until finding a crystal or something.

Oh well, only 20 NOK wasted.

I think a lot of the annoying bosses are optional, so I might reinstall someday and just rush to the end. Still, overall I enjoyed the game a lot less than reviewers did. The combat is decent and the world/story is really cool, but almost everything else about it just frustrates me. Too old to feel frustrated playing games, yelling at my monitor. I just don't enjoy that kind of thing anymore.
Fuel (2009). It was holding a Guinness world record(maybe still does) for biggest open world map in a video game, but is simply boring. Such a waste of very impressive technology. I might still drive around too see the whole map, but I will not compete in races and collect useless stuff.
