So with this whole remake/reboot culture that's been going around like a pox at a convention, I was thinking about this, and decided to put a spin on it! I'll provide an example or two for the Good/bad contrast.
Super Mario Sunshine
Why doesn't it need a Remake?
Because in order to remake this game, you'd have to take Super Mario Sunshine out of Super Mario Sunshine. To fix the issues that plague this game, you'd have to remove all the poorly designed levels (most of them), get rid of Blue Coins, (even though they count for a large goal %), throw out the clunky camera, replace those worthless tropical Yoshi with actual ones, and a slew of other issues.
In Summary: It would take too much time and effort to bring this up to snuff.
Deus EX:
Wht doesn't it need a remake?
Because it is a damn fine game. It was sculpted carefully from the very start. Now a remaster, to bring the graphics up to a nice level, that would be fine, if you ask me.
There. That's two examples, so here's some rules to keep this thread in control.
1. Obviously, can't remake a game that's still selling. Exception: Nintendo games for the most part, because as far as I can tell, they're still selling Super Mario 64 DS.
2. Can't remake a remake. That's just redundant. I know they've actually done that before, but for the purpose of this thread, let's keep it sane.
