Blastprocessor42: Apparently, the final "Fuck you" is that Spiderling (the developers) is removing Besiege from sale here.

"Hey there we used to be GOG, but the amount of people using it to buy and play Besiege was so low that we pulled it again because the amount of support we had to do for that version.

The Splintered Sea is on Steam only for the moment and we'll see what other options we may explore in the future."

"It still appears there because GOG somehow isn't accommodating we want to pull it. It will eventually actually stop appearing there.

GOG simply isn't as popular for us, and it's not really down to anything we do, it's down to the audience isn't there for us and neither is features to integrate, like workshop.

The process of getting GOG builds and updating stuff there also hasn't been smooth.

All reasons why for Besiege we're not continuing on the platform right now, especially with reviews always saying to go buy it on Steam for a better community and workshop experience anyway."

(GOG users have responded.)

Batman: Arkham Asylum has the Play as the Joker DLC on Playstation and the DLC does completely work on PC if you just take the Playstation files and paste them into your game folder, but Rocksteady was treating PC users on both Steam and GOG as second class even back then.

And why is that, do you think?

I think it's actually a good thing all in all, that in the end they are pulling it from the store, since they won't try to passively farm gog income on a broken and incomplete build with no support whatsoever, as it happens all too often otherwise.
But yeah, the logic behind it is.... really something else.

Oh well, that's another developer I'm not buying anything from in the future, be it on gog or anywhere else.
VenusBlood FRONTIER International is missing Soundtrack
VenusBlood Hollow is missing Soundtrack

The google doc information about Mystery of Wolley Mountain is outdated.
All the listed missing DLCs are available on GOG

No Milkshakes With Lemon DLC for the Gog version of Slime Girl Smoothies ?
Amid Evil offers no way to upgrade to its Warrior Edition without buying the game a second time.

So technically file it as no way to buy the original game's soundtrack separately, since no "Warrior Edition" or a specifically labeled upgrade to it is available elsewhere either.
Owlboy

Last update on GOG was around 17th March 2020. Last update on Steam was 25th May 2022. I've messaged the devs on discord. No reply yet. Will edit post with the outcome.

Any knowledge what is fixed in the missing update(s)?

I am still considering buying the game if there are no critical fixes missing.

So you have that April fix which should fix crashes and improve loading speeds, but apparently introduced a crash, which the 3 May updates try to then tackle.

Oh, I thought he said GOG version has a 2020 update, not 2022 updates (even the April 2022 update)? A typo?

EDIT: If the GOG version is the old pre-2022 XNA version of the game, it might still be worth buying I guess, as long as it doesn't have any of those earlier 2022 "fixes" that apparently introduced new crashes, which hopefully were fixed with the last 2022 update. Besides that, the 2022 patches apparently introduced PS4 gamepad support (I don't care), and some fixes to Japanese and Chinese fonts (I don't care).

Has anyone here extensively played or even finished the GOG version, does it seem kosher/halal?

Yes, and I posted links to what's contained in the 2022 updates, since you asked what was missing on GOG.

Ok, I misunderstood "So you have that April fix..." to mean that is what the GOG version has. But it was a passive "you".

EDIT: Aaand... bought, the soundtrack bundle version. It seems to have so favorable reviews already back in 2016, I didn't see people complaining about critical problems with the game even back then.

That point by the devs of Besiege is a 100% legit one.

GOG's lack of access to Steam Workshop mods, and/or other important features of Steam like Remote Play Together, inherently makes many GOG games treat GOG customers like second class citizens, by default, and with that problem being beyond the power of any devs to fix.

In other words, this kind of thing is a "GOG platform problem," and not a "lazy devs" problem.

Until if & when GOG chooses to fix this problem, by making a deal with Steam which allows GOG versions of games to piggyback off of Steam's essential features like Workshop and Remote Play Together, then IMO GOG curation should not even be allowing for mod heavy games and/or multiplayer heavy games, like the ones that would use those features I've mentioned, to appear on GOG in the first place.

By allowing them to appear, despite them being gimped, then GOG itself is directly facilitating the treatment of their own customers as second class citizens.
