It is likely not the case, but it could have been a counterfeit copy. I have seen many convincing games, both console games like ds and also pc games, as convincing counterfeits there before. They are often used to sell modified or non-existent roms or editions of some cartridge console titles and PC games.

Does the game have blood spatter in it? If that is the case then they might have indexed it. I believe they do so for games with blood that is red in color in games.

When Blake Stone was released in 1993, most consumer, IBM-compatible PC BIOSes were restricted to being able to address a maximum IDE disk size of approximately 500MB. I think my largest drive back then was a whopping 420MB that I bought at the tail end of the year, so I regularly deleted games I had completed or I didn't like to make room for new ones. There were only a handful of fairly small, good games I kept around permanently.

These days I have disk space to burn and then some, so unless I dislike a game I'll usually just keep it installed.
I totally agree. When a game has that many individual assets it's much easier to manage if they are packed. Bonus points if they are packed in an easily accessible format, such as with id Tech 3 PK3 files which are just renamed ZIP files.

Anfang Juni haben wir, mit Bezug auf die Steam-Gruppe ForUncut, darüber berichtet, dass Valve fast 30 Titel aus dem deutschen Steam-Store entfernt hat.

Nun zieht GOG nach und entfernt ebenfalls eine größere Anzahl an Spielen für Käufer aus Deutschland. Betroffen sind die folgenden 31 Titel:

Es sei hier angemerkt, schon jetzt sind einige Titel für deutsche Käufer nicht verfügbar (z.B. Quake III), die Blockierung der neuen Titel stellt also nur eine Erweiterung dar. Unschön ist dieser Schritt aber dennoch und es bleibt abzuwarten, wie sich dies weiter entwickelt.

Incidentally, these games on the index are not "region locked". They're completely legal to play in Germany, just not to buy. If you buy them, they run fine.

Hmmm.... Curious. I didn't think Dos had region locking, but there are different keyboard layouts which could be used as a region detection type. Or maybe certain bits in the command.com or io.sys file that determines general region. Regardless, i have two versions of Blake Stone (GoG and a secondary source), if key files are corrupted i could offer them if need be. I'm sure it would be fine.

No, sorry. The game page is region blocked. The game, once downloaded, runs fine. But GOG isn't allowed to advertise indexed games in Germany. So the page advertising the game isn't visible from a German IP.
I still own the game and it is in my account. I can download and play it without problem. But I can't access the store page without some tricks. That's why the link provided in this thread doesn't work for German customers.

Gotcha... I thought we were going over problems with the game (so he can play it), not the GoG visibility to sell the game.
