One thing is to bypass some little layer of security in a webpage and a whole different thing is to steal credit card numbers.

Discussions are neither won nor lost. That shit about winning discussions is really stupid.

tfishell: Cyberpunk2077 release fiasco (assuming GOG's relationships with publishers suffered, even though the state of the game wasn't GOG's fault),
Cyberpunk 2077 is more successful than Witcher 3.

Oh boy - I knew, I should have put the "defeat" in quotation marks.
Humour is a dying breed.

eric5h5: You must have a LOT of fingers. ;) Like, hundreds of fingers. There's been a fair amount of spam this year, sometimes filling up the entire front page if not the first two pages, so I just give up and wait until the next day before looking at the forum again.

Timboli: Okay, give me some dates. Or are you making the mistake of counting each spam post, where I was talking about major spam events, where many occur at once.
Working backwards from the posts in https://www.gog.com/forum/general/spambot_report_thread

Today (right now)
Yesterday
Two days ago
Three days ago
March 17th
March 16th
March 15th
March 13th
March 8th
March 7th
March 6th
February 28th
January 28th
January 25th
...and more

I got bored listing the dates for you just because you are too lazy to look it up yourself. That is not a full list, sometimes the people reporting mass spam events post only a few examples, as it should be obvious to any moderators which users/threads to ban/remove.
It's gone too far, every day GOG is attacked by several bots with dozens of their unnecessary ads. Maybe it will be easiest to make CAPTCHA mandatory for every new discussion thread created? I think, it's a pretty simple solution given the allocated resources (none), everyone will be equal in rights, and the bots will start writhing in the flames of hellish CAPTCHA.

Also $0.00000000001 (maybe less) per CAPTCHA as profit.

I say CAPTCHA solution for GOG to save the day and money.

Wirvington: You guys don't understand, gog is slowly transitioning towards becoming an online learning platform.
It'll be all courses from weird universities you didn't know existed (and probably don't)
avatar
BreOl72: You mean like Gonzaga University?
(who here gets the reference?)
You got me whilst I was editing my post. I should have gone to the ninja university or take a university course on ninja edits! But to be fair, how could I've known of its existence if gog wasn't there to teach me about them? Maybe they offer ninja courses in Gonzaga? I don't get the reference, but that might be because I'm not a ninja :P

Oh how I miss the black babaji times. Why study if you can remotely kill someone or make them to love you?

That's part of their strategy, making you live under the voodoo threat! After all, you need to study a different course in order to know how to counter revenge death spells @_@.

Sorry. I wasn´t criticising you, really. It is just that it is very sad to see and suffer people who believe and feel that to be mistaken about something is a humiliation of some sort. Too many people have an absurd, useless and counterproductive sense of pride and ego.

It is always a good time to say such things as this.

GOG really really should do something to fix the bots problem. Ant the sooner the better. I don´t think I have ever seen so many trash threads.

Oh, so much fuss about these amateur bots. You can tell from far away.

How will it be when ChatGPT-powered bots come join the party? Strike a conversation, cost you some of your time, and then sneak in a reference or two to the product they are selling.
i feel tired. i really like to look forum everyday.
