A while ago, there was a discussion in here about games that were purchased on GOG but could be redeemed on Steam, i.e., people who bought the games here on GOG could ask the developers for Steam keys for those games. The discussion made a list of those games. I can't find the thread. Can anyone point me to it?

ArmA 1, 2 and Cold War spring to mind. The Steam keys for a given game are listed in your library shelf when you expand to see the full information, or they were anyway. Generally speaking, this has been done only with very few games and mainly they were games that used Gamespy which went out of business, and eventually the games were updated to use Steamworks for multiplayer, so that's how they allowed GOG users to still retain multiplayer functionality - by offering up Steam keys.

I can`t understand why someone would like to redeem games from GoG on Steam, but I can totally understand if people want it the other way.

Achievements, multiplayer, and other features, maybe.
Or they're looking to give the key to somebody else, which probably isn't the most morally correct way to do things, but it is an option.

1) Because Steam.
2) Because that would be more possible to happen. Seen how many games up to now were eligible for transfer? Right now, they are zero, too.

The main thing that interests me is that some steam games get access to level editors and custom levels while we don't.
some games (too many unfortunately) have native Linux version on steam but not here...
I would love to be finally able to play both Metro Redux games but it looks like i need to buy them again
+ steam cloud save
Old thread but still relevant. For instance witcher 3 dlc's are currently on offer on steam for "Blood and Wine" + "Hearts of Stone" addons at half the price of the gog version hence the reason why I would like to be able to redeem it on Steam.

If not a gog auto price match system would suffice. One that didn't require contact via email as these sales are usually on weekend/bank holidays.

GOG Summer Sale is coming soon so you probably will be to buy them at same price during the sale.
Many people bought Unepic here got their Steam key for free.
I am not sure if it still work like this now though.
I would love a steam key for Grim Dawn. All my friends play on steam, and the internet multiplayer of GOG doesn't see their games. We can play LAN games together, but that is rare. It is frustrating enough that I wished I bought it on Steam and not GOG.

Then go contact the developer (if you haven't already) or wait for a Steam sale? You won't get one just posting in this thread, as GOG themselves never give out Steam keys.
