Not sure I follow, do you mean the price hike is to discourage people from buying the original and wait for the remake?
And even if so, how does the Gothic 1 Remake explain/excuse the price hike for Gothic 2 & 3?


Either way, makes one happy to have gotten all three of them many years ago.

It'd have been weird to make 1 more expensive than 2 and 3, even more so when it'll become "outdated" while the others won't, and it'd have made the reason for the price hike too blatantly obvious. This way they can call it a new pricing policy or some crap like that, and if someone will pay the extra money they earn more too. And if they do want to sell them at some point, cue 90% off deals instead of 75% off so far (admittedly, there was a 90% off that old price at one point too).
