Hello.

"Hand of fate 1 and 2" no longer appear and are no longer on sale with a discount for the "Break The Loop"sale.
I wonder if it's normal. I wanted to take HoF 2 this Sunday as the countdown on the home page indicated that there were still several days left. Surprise, games are no longer sold at a discount.
An image redirecting to the "Break the loop"sale is however on the game page.

I know that some games can be in the list without a reduced price but it's different in this case because they were present and sold a short time ago.
It would be nice to have a countdown timer on each games store pages.

This unfortunately has become commonplace for GOG sales (the act of removing games from discount mid-sale without warning) -- along with a host of other problems from sale pages containing games with no discount to personal wishlists sorted by "games with discount" showing games with no discount.

I hate to say it, but it seems GOG is getting VERY sloppy (at best) recently. What changed recently? I don't know...

... but I do know I've held off making any purchases here until they at least communicate with us.

As to your original issue...

... you may wish to contact GOG support. If by chance the removal of Hand of Fate wasn't planned and happened by glitch or oversight, GOG may honor the sale price... if you get a response. ;(

I had a similar situation happen a few years back with Hand of Fate (and HoF2) and GOG honored the sale price!

Yes, these compilations of discounted and non-discounted games in the deals section/wishlist can be a little annoying.
Well, I'll try to get the games I want as soon as they are at a reduced priced i guess.
Hand of fate is not often sold with a discount but I have other games to finish and I have it on EpicGames. (But i like to have my games here with my sweet sweet offline installers.).
The DLCs weren't at a discounted price this time anyway. i'll buy it next time.

Thank you !

I think the only reason to have something on Epic is so i may actually get some good game for free. But so far i got almost any game i consider "good" already, so this is kinda useless to me. Actually i do not "get" it in term there is DRM, i can simply play it for as long as my account and/or online connection will last, thats all. I mean, the best price for something you do not actually get is "free"... all the other prices are actually to high. There is only 2 way of getting something: DRM free or when placed on a disc. Fortunately, for the industry, most gamers do not care it seems. Or they may stop to care as soon as the price is as low as the taxes they need to pay for a trash container at home. People are weird enough, thats why i rarely can connect to them, they simply got their own little world and believes: It may not change for a entire life. Just a few people may think in a wider perspective... with some new horizon, those are the ones i enjoy.

And the only reason i get something on Steam is because there is not GoG able to offer it to me because of DRM or simply not released on GoG for some other reason.

My "Best of all time" is currently over 200 installed and DRM free PC games. The other games are console games with about the same amount. In total close to 500 games soon (there is maybe 50 000 games but only 1% are truly shiny to me°°)... there is so much to play or "play another time"; i can barely handle it. Why do i always need the newest stuff? I dunno... °°And no, it does not matter if huge dev, small dev, huge or low revenue... almost any game is able to become "Best of all time". The art and tech count, both is playing a role. Huge devs usually got better tech count but art count is most critical for any game, still.

I do agree for some weird reason some games are all of a sudden "out of sales" and i do not know what time the sale actually will finish. So instead of planing as soon as there is a discount you may have to "catch" it quick. Pretty intransparent behaviour it seems but okay...

For example Doom 3, i had in mind i may get it because on sale. Then all of a sudden it was out of sale and i was not able to detect a timer, but who cares... i wait for another sale. Maybe someone will present it to me but this has never happen ever... so i guess not very realistic.

Hand of Fate 2 is aswell on my wishlist and indeed, in theory it should be "on sale" now but currently there is no sale.

Games on my wishlist are mainly either "not available yet", or simply very unclear if i actually may enjoy them, so for this reason i may either enjoy a sale or... if this is even possible, some present. A few overpriced DLCs could be affected too.

I find the mix very annoying
and as far as I can see its causing the effect of purchases missed:
call it postpone, on-hold, delay, etc

In my case I've avoided to visit the sales pages until the Spring sale
If it keeps happening then, Ill probably revisit until the Summer sale...
as you both said: There is no hurry

Honestly, I dont see how the business wins that way...
But what do I know?! Im not one of those marketing genius
with those brilliant out-of-the-box ideas...

"Epic Games" is my: "Let's try this game. Is it good? Yes it is. Let's go buy it on gog."
I don't buy anything from them.
Regarding Steam, I also buy my games there when I despair of seeing them here one day, but it's rare and it must not contain Denuvo type DRM. I've bought the Long Dark, it was available here but the developers removed it unfortunately.
I've got Final Fantasy X too, I don't think it will be on gog one day.

One of the interest here of buying games without having the desire or the time to play them is to be able to save
the current version of the said game and to have peace of mind if ever an update adds thing we dont want.

With the games that disappear from a sale and games that get problematic updates overnight, I'm going to rush a little more now haha.I think I'm going to come and check the discounted games once at the beginning and once at the end of the week and take the game as soon as I can now on according to my budget.
I never had problems of this kind with those Season sales indeed.
Clearly it's bad for business, I find it hard to believe it can stay that way.
Final Fantasy X is DRM free on Steam, you may start it without Steam.

Final Fantasy 13 had a custom launcher attached from the community able to let the game boot without Steam. Unfortunately the publisher was updating the game with many of the custom launcher content and patching it DRM locked once again. If you had the old version it may still work without Steam but the updated version is locked once again. Indeed, on Steam or any other marketplace you are usually forced to update... GoG is probably the only place without a forced update.

Final Fantasy 9 is DRM free too... on Steam.

Final Fantasy 7 got a custom launcher able to avoid all DRM attached.

Sure, they can use Denuvo for better protection but naturally, if the game is any good, it will be cracked someday. Actually Dragon Quest XI was cracked for a long time already. Many years later the publisher was finally releasing a DRM free version; but for many years it had a Denuvo-DRM... for the paying customers.

I only have FFX for the moment, but I intend to take others later. Thanks for the heads up !

Yeah, denuvo/launchers/activations and all that crap annoys people who buy games.Useless.That makes no sense.
