So a dear friend of mine suggested this old game for me to play and try and I am totally confused. I read the tips and am unsure how to find my norn Egg to begin playing the game. Any useful help for my noobness would be much greatly appreciated! Thank You in advance.

Try posting this question on the forum dedicated to the Creatures series. You might get an answer here, but this question would be better asked there. It's not a super-hopping forum, though. Though there aren't posts there too often these days, there have been a bunch historically. Just browsing the subforum may encounter the tips you need to get started as well.

Okay, there's a little button up in the menu that should open a nest window. You get a selection of eggs to choose from. Double click the egg you want and drop it in the incubator.
