BKGaming: But Epic Games has a lot of resources and DEVELOPERS, so I suspect the Epic Games Store will progress far faster than GOG has with for example Galaxy.
So much that they canceled and/or abandoned every other project like Paragon or Unreal Tournament and moved everyone to Fortnite.
GOG will probably suffer more than Steam if the EGS grows. Steam has the resources to eventually fight back, GOG doesn't because it is an afterthought (both in terms of finances and human resources) for CD Projekt.

Hold on a second, is there a game store around here somewhere? Now that's original, never heard of a forum that branch out like that before.

On the other hand, GOG can offer something truly unique - you own what you buy. Both Epic Store and Origin Store are just worse alternatives to Steam with nothing to set them apart.

I actually played a few games today.
Beat up some dock workers, stole a car, stole some diamonds, and outran the silhouette of a giant spider.

Sure. But Epic and Valve can "bribe" developers to bring them on their platforms. And the users go where the games are. GOG is growing because the release pipeline is getting more crowded (more games => more users => more games). If that somehow stops or gets slower, GOG will start to be stagnant and lose market share, until it becomes a permanent economic loss in CD Projekt's annual report. How can it get slower or stop? Epic is buying exclusives for its store. Valve could do it too (even though they have always declared themselves against that). GOG can't, it never has and never will. Do the (sad) math.

Ps: I don't think we can trust customers to refuse this sort of behaviour. Gamers have accepted everything to play their games. Everything.

I already had an account because of that platformer game they remastered a couple years ago and it was free for a little while

And I am in for Journey.

And for free games.

After that we will see.
Curiously i already have an account. I was helping someone with the Unreal 4 Engine, so i got an account anyways... I'll give my own feedback soon enough.

Might as well right?
I have over a thousand games here, almost 600 on Steam, a PS3, a PS2, a 3DS, a NES Classic and a SNES Classic. I can live without the Epic Games Store and I'm sure they can live without me.
Have made a account as well , lets see how the free games pan out
Well the launcher is... functional. Though it seems to mostly include Epic Games products.

Then again i did opt out of the Beta so maybe the storefront isn't in the old version?

I think I already have an account from back when I tried out Fortnite.

Meh. I'll take their free games, but I don't foresee actually playing them, or purchasing anything from the store.
Considering Epic is 40% owned by the Chinese, the selection on their Chinese storefront sure is garbage right now.

Fortnite, Unreal Tournament, Shadow Complex... that's it! Three games total. And links to mod tools for about a dozen other games that will lead you to a "This product is not available in your region"-disclaimer. Great show!

All great points but I think you are too focused on the big picture to see the small things. Users that do not care are already on steam instead of gog. And gog users are used to not getting the newest shiny anyway. So yesterday devs did not release/release later on gog because drm and tomorrow they wont because worse cut. Both are the same in terms of they don't get my money since they don't release here (or otherwise online DRM free) for whatever reasons.
I'm in for the free games, but yeah they still have a long way to go before I'm going to buy anything there. I hope they have something more than 'just' Fortnite as the tentpole game to attract customers.

Fortnite... yeah i hope they have something else too; I'm not that big on MMO/Multiplayer-only/Always-Online games.
