neumi5694: Just for the sake of excluding the disk as error source for good ... could you try to redownload the installer and launch them from HD? The ones you mentioned should not be all too large.
Check out the attached (screenshot) I just took from the transfer I am doing it came up with an error copy , it says " the file XXX.exe has properties that cannot be copied to the new location " ok I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with that .

No worries, that warning is irrelevant. You copy from a source that uses a file format wich stores certain additional file information to one that doesn't.

The file content won't change, just some additional information about the file will be lost (like which user can write changes to this file, but you only want to read it anyway, so it doesn't matter).

Edit: Just to make sure .. .Where did you copy that file from anyway and where to?

Update

So I can Rule out a few things Now with this Install 3221225501 Error Code
=========================================================

( After thinking it might be bad DVD copies , or Corrupted Files - Then disabling The Antivirus and Firewall while install )

I have tried this

After trying DVD copies and it failed - I Then copied my game set-up file to my USB key - Tried copying it to the other offline Desktop - Ran Install from the offline desktop - Error Code - won't install

Second - I hooked up the Offline Desktop PC to the internet , went to Gog , then downloaded directly to my PC desktop - saved and ran setup - SAME Error Code AGAIN - No go -

So To recap

- This 3221225501 Error code problem

ain't related to The DVD COPY - tried without transfering from other sources .

Ain't related to corrupt files

Tried disabeling my antivirus and my firewall while installing directly from PC

I ve tried different games from the same game series = the close combat series - CC3 / CC5 / CC The Longest Day etc

Well I am stumped

I copied that file From a Fresh Install Laptop - where I downloaded the File From Gog

Like I just posted my last update and Recap - I even hooked up the offline desktop and directly downloaded the file from GOG - from my account and I still have the same error code message when I try to install - which means I havent transfered the setup file from anything ( usb or DVD ) I got it directly from the GOG site - so I am stumped

The code 3221225501 is pretty hard to research, but there are instances where it's a problem with a DLL loading or a CPU instruction isn't being accepted because the hardware is ancient.

Your offline machine isn't bonkers old, is it?

No it Ain't . In fact it's comparable to the Laptop - Either way I ve installed other Gog Games that have installed well on the desktop . To my memory the older desktop is circa 2010

It just baffles me cause the same gog games work perfectly on my circa 2010 Laptop .. so I guess I 'll have to pass on them for the desktop

reinstall windows on the desktop.
You mentioned several different installers and games so far, so it could be a general problem.
Try to install the 32Bit DotNet and C++ packages 2005 and upwards provided by Microsoft.
If the error really has to do with missing commands like one of the other writers mentioned, this could solve it.

anzial: reinstall windows on the desktop.
I doubt that will change anything .. This offline Desktop , already has a fresh windows 10 x64 install , everything is updated and it has the 22h2 built . There are merely any software installed on it . Short answer it's a brand new windows 10 install all updated up to March 1 2023 . No glitches while installing - update history has a green ok for updates .

Thx for the idea anzial

Great suggestions - i'll download at Microsoft and check out these files .. I will be doing this more this coming Friday or week-end . I have long work hours during the week and do get up early each day . Thanks for your help neumi5694 I really appreciate it . I will most likely post a reply next Sunday after trying to apply those files to the old computer. .
Hmm.

When you are burning the discs, what files, exactly, are you putting onto the disc?

For example, if you were to make a "The Witcher" disc, after burning, if you were to open the disc on a computer, you would see the following files:

changelog_the_witcher.html
extras
'setup_the_witcher_enhanced_edition_1.5_(a)_(10712)-1.bin'
'setup_the_witcher_enhanced_edition_1.5_(a)_(10712)-2.bin'
'setup_the_witcher_enhanced_edition_1.5_(a)_(10712)-3.bin'
'setup_the_witcher_enhanced_edition_1.5_(a)_(10712).exe'

You'd then use the .exe file to install.

Two things to not try to do:

1) Do not install the game on a computer, and then copy the C:\GOG Games\ folder.
2) Do not try to use the .bin files as disc images to burn.

Understood , as I mentioned earlier in the previous post I tried downloading the game files directly from GOG online and then installing directly to the Target PC - and NOT from burned DVD's and NOT from copied files to a USB Key.

But when I did tried tp burn the game file or files to DVD . I only burned the original file or files through image burn by burning files to disc . Not by iso . I say file or files , because some games only come in a single file which are a .exe file and other close combat games from the same series do come with 1 - .exe file which is around 1 meg with its additional file around 1.1 gig which is a .bin file. I had different games in different folders with only the set-up or install file or files .

I then burn the disc , then copied the folder to the PC I wanted to install , which had none one gog game installed on it , and trued to install which all gave me the ERROR CODE 3221225501 ...

again in the end , I did not burn or transfer a copy from one pc to another - I tried downloading it directly to my other PC . which normally I don't hook up to the internet and keep offline .

Thanks for your help very appreciated .

To be honest randix, if you're still getting the (highly unusual) error even after downloading and running the installers (even without using any optical disc), and given the fact Googling "ERROR CODE 3221225501" comes up with suggestions from missing .dll's to using a CPU with no AVX instruction, I'd try this:-

1. Exactly what CPU are you using, ie, download and run CPU-Z. Does it have "AVX" in the instructions box (see underlined in red for example)? If not it could be a CPU too old issue some other people are seeing the same error code for. If GOG installers use AVX (but the old games do not), then one possible workaround is to use InnoExtract to get the files out of the installers.

2. If you have a spare HDD lying around, try doing a clean Windows reinstall on that? At the very least that should out broken .dll's.
