Hey guys,

I just bought witcher 3 the wild hunt game of the year edition over at g2a. used the code and it worked just fine.
It shows up in my library and gives me the option to download and play.
Then I am linked to an error message and it says that my licence is invalid.

When I activated the code here it worked just fine.

How do I fix this?

thanks for your help :)

Kuri

EDIT:

Installed GOG galaxy. Showes up there aswell - treid to start the download and it said not authorized

g2a well there is your problem. Should have bought the game on GOG.
They are illegal key resellers with fraud and stuff.

So much misinformation.

g2a is vulnerable to fraud, but they are not inherently fraudulent or illegal. They are considered gray-market since they are parked nicely in a gray area of most countries' laws (and thus are neither legit, nor black market). I would suggest that you employ caveat emptor when purchasing from such sites though.

Are they still selling fraud insurance? lol
Looks like you got an invalid key, sorry you got a cut rate key from an unauthorized seller.

(Remember children, if GOG/CDProjekt says they aren't selling there, consider it black market for all intents and purposes.)

Take it up with G2A. Your key was revoked most likley, probably because the key was not legit. Nothing GOG can do about it. You should only buy games from official sources, ie Steam, GOG, Humble, etc.

Not entirely true. GOG could at least have the decency to tell people when and why games are being removed from their library -- even if only with a rote automated e-mail message. Failing to do so only leads to confused posts like this one, and (partially) misplaced bad feelings toward GOG.

Except Green Man Gaming, they're good. CDPR would like you to THINK they're "EVIL ILLEGAL KEY THIEVES!" though, but they're not.

I think somebody said they notify the account that actually obtained the key from GOG originally... but yea I do agree they could notify the other involved users too.

Did you even read the specific phrasing I used?

It doesn't matter what your opinion is, if CDPR doesn't actually sell direct or authorize them, then you can't trust the key received as genuine, even if it is valid.
It looks like Kuri322 has his problem resolved. He started playing TW3 an hour ago

I'm not sure what point you're making. That link shows EBGames is selling W3 GOTY for $49.95 and it's only $45.09 right here on GOG.

According to isthereanydeal.com it's been sold for as little as $19.99 on both GOG and Steam at some point in the past. G2A's current cheapest price appears to be $23.34.

I guess the moral of the stoy is if you want a cheap GOG code for Witcher 3, wait for a sale and buy directly from GOG. The Witcher games are ALWAYS included in sales here and the codes are guaranteed legit. :-)
