I recently purchased Kings Quest 6 on GOG, a game I grew up playing and loved. I got to the part where you need to get the hole in the wall, and I know from years past that in order to get it, you have to play the flute to make the flowers dance, and then when you're done they keep dancing so you can grab the hole. You cannot beat the game without it.
However, my game is glitched. Every time I play the flute, the flowers dance right until the part where it says they keep dancing even after I stop playing. But the game show a visible glitch where everything blinks, and then suddenly they aren't dancing. There is a space of less than a second in which I can try to grab the hole, but as soon as I change the cursor to the hand, they stop dancing. It is virtually impossible to get the hole in the wall because of this glitch, and I know for a fact it's not supposed to be this way.
I have tried re-downloading, re-installing, troubleshooting, and starting over multiple times, all with the same result. This is a scripting error or something, I'm not sure, but it's definitely something I can't fix on my own, and I haven't seen anyone else with the same problem. Can anyone help?
Thanks!
