[This is a sticky post, it will be visible in every single page of this thread. It has been published in October 2020.]

Our moderation team decided not to take a side in the discussion since this giveaway thread was created by the community and, as long as there are no forum rules violated, is up to you, dear Gogers, to decide its fate. We will not set giveaway rules, edit the OP's post, nor lock the whole thread.

However, to make it easier for newcomers to understand the situation (about the OP being inactive and other), I will stick my own post right above the first one.

You are, of course, free to create new threads to start anew and make your own, clear rules. At the same time, please stay reasonable when crating them, as multiple new duplicates might make it even more confusing for many Gogers.

That being said, here you can find a post with dxenija's community poll to have better understanding of the situation: CLICK.

At the time of writing, open giveaway threads are:
- Massive Giveaways Blog (this one)
- Free (temporary) keys giveaway central topic.
- Updated Itch.io giveaways

Be nice to each other *flies away*

Wow. Is it really DRM free like so many other Epic giveaways? I remember this thread when it was first released, where the devs basically said a DRM free version wasn't worth their time.

While this is off topic, it uses Epic's DRM, just like Steam with Steam DRM. There's neither a DRM-free version, nor is it on GOG (hence the thread) at this time.

we were talking about indiegala and GOG being DRM-Free. Epic and Steam are both DRM libraries and you would need their client to run the games. It is under their control basically.

Not every game on Steam actually requires Steam to run though some of them require Steam for specific features. Here's a list of games on Steam that will run without Steam: https://steam.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_DRM-free_games

Not every Epic game have DRM, I tested recently The Messenger, Into the Breach, Superhot and Celeste and they are DRM free. Actually Celeste is portable!
But you do need the client to download the games but not to run them.

Do you have examples that indiegala games are DRM-free?
I want to add it to the thread I maintained:

The freebies. Others are Steam keys, as I understand it at least...
We're getting off topic, which is a conversation I'm saving for some other time.

Meanwhile, y'all need to get Tower of Time here on GOG. You have less than 48 hours from now: https://www.gog.com/game/tower_of_time

I'm curious, who else was hoping to get the less buggy one, hide and seek?

Fair warning: I checked just now and the game is indeed still as buggy as it was a year ago.
Another one on itch, Deadmans Landing. The very last on a popularity sort of those on sale, despite being free. Should be saying something...
