Something exactly like the game High Seas Trader with reasonable graphics.........

CarChris: Why does a thread exactly like this, comes into my mind? Newest account, looking for a game not giving much information about it, just comparing it with another game. Many people tried to help\guess then, but that account didn't himself exactly know what he was looking for! I remember something like this!
^ This very astute person's comment here is definitely onto something. :)

Yep. This thread gives me some heavy deja-vu vibes.
Has anyone played the old game High Seas Trader?

There's a site called Mobygames (as mentioned above),where you can search by genre and then related/similar games. Might have a better chance of finding it if you search for it yourself.

Has anyone had a look at the API for MobyGames.

https://www.mobygames.com/api/subscribe/

I know they are a commercial site, but jeez, check out the pricing.

Who would pay for Bronze or Silver or Gold, and why?

The other two options are over the top as well, but those three are in a very different sphere of crazy.

I was thinking of using the site for getting the year of a game, because I currently have a browser issue with PC Games Wiki, where the site crashes my browser ... though I can still get the year in many cases, via the command-line. Though quite often a game is simply not listed there. So I was hopeful, that MobyGames would be a good alternative when needed, but you have to be joking .... $10 a month for a hobbyist like myself, who would do less than 50 queries a month, and only for the year.
I need more recommendations please.

Well, I guess I'm guilty of that now. So here is a reaction from me. Cheers! :)
Have you ever suggested making your own graphics card?

If you would want help, you would have started with more information from your end days ago.

For example WHEN (roughly the year) did you play the game you are looking for.
System you are played on.
Simply any fucking information that is still in your head.
No more information from your end, no more guessing.

But I think "Waiting for response" is your real deal here.
So, next account and next try.
Wasn't a thread asking the precisely same, in precisely the same fashion a few months back?
I swear I'm having a deja-vu moment, must be Matrix internet issues...

Edit: I'm speechless. I was actally able to find the thread mentioned above! Using GOG's website search none the less!!!
As a bonus, not one but two!!!!!

Thank you Thank you THANK YOU! I knew I wasn't mistaken! Although I searched myself earlier too, I couldn't find the other threads! I wonder why so much insistence with the High Seas Trader though, they could have picked any other game to ask about!
