tinyE: You guys are all nuts with your fucking negativity. When I think of the possibilities, $600 seems like a steal!
Good luck trying to find the toilet paper!
BTW that picture isn't me! :P I found it on Google.
That's what I would have said, too. ;-)

fortune_p_dawg: $600 = a small price to pay for infinite virtual bjs
Why would you want to run infinite b javascript files, are you trying to stack overflow on a loophole :P
Remains to be seen (no pun intended) if this is the shape of things to come, or if it's a year or two away from being a novelty item collecting dust in the attic.

At $600, it's not something I will buy. Hell, still haven't picked out a joystick for $100 or less, let alone this thing that may or may not have a future.
isnt VR it like holding TV to your face, cant be good for your eyes, cant play much games once you go blind

Wanted to get one to play Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 and ride other 3D rollercoasters, that's when I thought it was always gonna be $400. Now I'll just wait again.

Fairfox: But those menz can't fap and hold teh TV at the same time! Still, blindness would happen either way.
instead of those 4k and curve TV's, all we needed was a TV that faps for you. Plus early blindness means fapping to darkness, lol you never know who is moaning on the other end
600$ is a steep price even for my bad computing habits, If they offered Linux support I would be very tempted but for now I'll hold.
I would call it Oculist Gift instead of Oculus Rift xD
I would combine them both, Oculist Grift.
I`m hit & miss when it comes to HOTAS products that cost £100+, but the price of that facebook device?
Not a chance lol

Anyway, wouldn`t be that immersive when you alt tab from a game, to see if it is still night time, only to alt tab back in again.

P.S. These were cheaper back in my day ;)
Pfft. With that kind of price - not to mention the hardware requirements to have the damn thing running well - I expect this to die a horrible death. It certainly doesn't sound like it'll ever be mainstream enough to live long. So if the adoption rate is ridiculously low nobody should be surprised that practically no game developer will actually want to support another heavy piece of tech paperweight.

I was already expecting this to be just another big dumb tech fad. The way things are going it may actually become truth. Here's to all those silly people who bought into the hype train.
