I don't know what Cage's original plans were for the game but yeah, it certainly shows that they had budget concerns towards the end. The romance moment is exactly the point where I felt things started falling apart. However, I don't think that any amount of time and money would have made that Dragon Ball Z shit in the end any less ridiculous.

(I might make an exception if the game offers a third gender option (like Ultima 3 and Elminage Gothic do), but that's rare.)
I could mention that, in Baldur's Gate 2, I do not like Anomen as a possible romantic partner, and I wish the game would let female characters romance Aerie, Jaheira, and Viconia. (After all, I note that Skyrim lets you marry any marriable character regardless of gender, but then again, Skyrim was released over a decade after BG2.)
