Has anyone played it? Is it any good?
I'm planning on getting it, but the official site says it's co-op and multiplayer.
Does this mean I can't play alone against the CPU, like in the original game?

I love the first game, spent countless of hours on it. I was so enraged when they swapped out the Michael Jackson zombie due to his fucking lawyers giving two shits too many.
The smartphone sequel is also pretty good.

Sadly, There’s no single-player mode.

Garden Warfare features no solo story mode, and is a purely multiplayer affair.
Each of the game’s modes are multiplayer variants of classics such as team deathmatch, conquest, or horde, and need to be played online.
If you don’t want to get online, Garden Warfare will also offer a split-screen co-op mode for two players.
It's always online (unless you play garden warfare and or split screen garden warfare) but it's an awesome game.
I would suggest to get a Humble Origin Bundle 2 key if someone still have it (I gave mine to WingsOfRequiem).
Or you can wait may be Origin On The House will feature it some day.
