wolfsite: Haven't touched my account in over 2 years and the credit cards that were linked to it are long cancelled.

But it's Valve so I'm sure people will forgive this quite easily and Gabe will just throw a few discounts and put up some false hope that Half-Life 3 is actually being worked on to get people to forget.

jepsen1977: Actually they can hack my account all they want and even steal all my 729 Steam games if this means Lord Gaben will give us Half Life 3 now.
He'd probably just show his knife collection again.

Still waiting for an official response from Steam. Till then taking no action seems like the safest bet. Don’t log in. Don’t log out. Don’t do the hokey-cokey and shake it all about.

Sorry to be an asshole, but it's "hokey-pokey". :P

I think "hokey-cokey" is what dishonest drug dealers sell.

Siannah: Had it myself, different language on storepage, account details showing another user and his email.

For those laughing at Steam now: yes, concerns are valid. But fingerpointing is sooo outta place guys... something like this happening on other places, at this time of the year? Yeah, I'd be worried more. A lot.
Will dash off to get Cities: Skyline, now, then... ;-)

What I want to say: I accept dislike of Steam, because I have myself some strong and historical criticism.

But I will try and fight my personal mental filters whenever I recognize them, and will ALWAYS hate misrepresentation - if Steam is web-attacked by malicious parties, it makes Steam a victim of malice - not generally unreliable.

Do I now think Valve is upgraded to mere "dick-headed" corporation - as opposed to a "micropenis-headed" one?

No!

But at least I think I have been consistent and un-self-serving about it, because I'd rather hate Steam.

Those "laughing" are either a bit unfair, or a bit questionable in channelling their exception, I find. My anger in this case is towards the hackers, not Steam. And if the formers wanted to do anything worthwhile - why not hack ISIS, instead, bloody hell??

Yes. Abstinence only is our only salvation. Must...not...insert...CC info..!

Your account has been HACKED!!!! :-)

I think this is about it:
Full email, full phone and address (only if you have a credit card linked), last 4 digits of credit card, paypall info, steamguard status, purchase history, license history.

Phone and CC are actually censored on the Steam account page but if you had a CC linked then apparently it was possible on some purchase page to see the autofill for the required personal info fields, and that had the address and phone number.

So is there a need to change the password?

Can't say for sure. Not if what has been seen so far was the extent of it but who knows. I have the mobile authenticator linked so doesn't really matter for me, they can't do anything without my phone even if they had my password.
