Galaxy doesn't force updates, can be toggled by game and as far as I can see most stuff allows rolling back to older builds. Just for future ref. Sucks about the Steam thing though.

I'm glad people haven't complained how GOG updates for this game are lagging behind of the Steam version. :)

Not sure how it is becoming crippled now, as console commands are being patched in again, and the microtransactions are tied to Steam Marketplace.

You're seeing the post-shitstorm result. This was posted during the shitstorm when Topware's PR guy was on Steam saying "convince us to put it back" and other garbage. Maybe some of it is language barrier but he was still shoveling a lot of BS.

To clarify, in case it's helpful to someone:

Backups downloaded through Galaxy (More -> Backups and goodies) and backups downloaded through the website are the exact same files -- the most recent versions of the standalone installer.

It's also possible to install the game directly via Galaxy via the huge blue Install button. This will perform an in-place installation without giving you a DRM-free installer, but these in-place installs can be rolled back to older versions. The only way to get an older version of a standalone installer (if it's not available through the downloads page) is to ask Support for it and hope they agree.

Sent Topware some questions, seems like in light of recent events we are keeping dev console. And there are no MTs, at least according to the email.

By all means be cautious, but that's the info I got just now via email.
