timppu: In essence, the launcher is already dead. It is not a living organism with its own emotions and desires. You can think of the launcher as your boxers; you don't really care if they are "alive" or "dead", and you can do fine even without, letting your willie hang around freely. DRM-freely.
Beware zippers.

King_Rumbles_32: how many people do yall think use gog to buy games on just wondering cause i was gonna buy games i dont want to if this launcher is dead though lol
Your post is an affront to the English language and to common decency.

Even quoting your post, reveals the true egregiousness of your sins. Who starts a sentence with a space?!

yall need to finish/go back to school.

rtcvb32: Is there any other way to do it?

EverNightX: Yes. Install via galaxy and then backup the installation folder. It's more efficient than the offline installers.
I was being sarcastic. I rather like portable or programs and games that you just unzip to a folder and run the exe. No installer, no muss no fuss, no registry entries or anything like that, then delete when you're done.

I'm sure that's great for platforms where Galaxy exists. But in my reality, using utilities like InnoExtract or just taking the lid off and dumping the files somewhere is more efficient.

It works on Mac, Linux (where I use it), and Windows. That covers most people.

OK, that's fine. But in ACTUAL reality it's not more efficient.
If you are looking for a viable multiplayer gaming platform, then GOG is not that. If that is what you want, then you are much better off with Steam.

Surprisingly, I very much agree, and I think many other members here would too.
all platforms have their issues. Yet as far as multiplayer goes my list STILL is in this order

#1 Gog #2 Epic (mainly because of the open source 3rd party launcher known as LEGENDARY) #3 Steam

THIS IS BECAUSE OF DRM FREE GOODNESS TO THE CONSUMER.

Most people ADORE the worst three for DRM as they are usually pure IGNORANT about their freedoms & laws. So therefore they will pick the WORST three in the world with some consistency. Microsoft/xbox, apple, and uplay.

Just do some study on the topic IF YOU ARE OTHER than a corporate shill and your position will be INSTANTLY educated about the ins and outs of renting games essentially over OWNING games :)

The most popular multiplayer games are not on GOG. It's silly to think anyone who cared about multiplayer would be using GOG for that type of gaming. Competitive games kind of require companies to have server side control of the software to mitigate cheating that ruins the game for others.

GOG really only makes sense for single player experiences or small P2P multiplayer where the players can manage their group themselves.
