A fistful of vengeance.

GUN™, a gun-trotting action/adventure in the wild West, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com.

There is something about the Old West that keeps fascinating us. The dusty towns, the gold rush, the dames of questionable moral fiber, the bullet-ridden saloons, the twitchy duels, the tobacco-chewing villains - they blur the line between history and fantasy in a particularly alluring fashion.
GUN is about breathing in all these things as Colton White and also engaging in bounty-collection missions, poker matches, buffalo hunts, train robberies, horseback shootouts, and just about everything that an open-world adventure has to offer to a daring gunslinger such as yourself. Just remember that sometimes the stealthy, more cunning approach is preferable to direct violence, even against the lowlifes that have wronged you.

Enter the vast, opportunistic land of the Wild West and dish out justice with your GUN™ in hand, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Maxvorstadt: I want to buy Gun, but the Gamepage seems to be not available.

IAmSinistar: Ist verboten.
Ist es nicht - es ist indiziert.

Harzzach: No, its not.

If you are over 18 years old, you can buy this game straight away. But because GOG has no system for age verification, they make their live easy and just block those games for all german IPs. I myself make my life easy and use VPN ;-P
People would be clever to not mention this VPN thingy so often. Just a friendly reminder.

Already fought this fight. :)
Will gog sell censored versions of games in the future?
avatar
ElTerprise: Are you surprised about that?
avatar
NuffCatnip: I thought it would take a while, but seems like they embraced it pretty quick.

I tell ya' from now on every second release will be region locked. :P
Every game indexed in Germany will be region locked. You can be sure about this.

Generally not. They try to be a global market in that respect, and most censorship is at local levels. Plus they know their buyers won't settle for censored versions.

Yes, sorry. I saw it tooo late. That is what you get if you try to keep up with a thread and answer the post before readingthe posts that are following. My mistake,
Good game, caught me by surprise when it was first released. Good music, set pieces, bounty hunting included, good voice over - Lance Henrikson if I remember correctly. Worth picking up if you have the time to play it. Nice release GOG.

Probably not. They're too niche.

And they are right. If I had to chose to buy a game censored or not at all I would chose the latter.

Thanks!
That's a relief! :)

The current development made me wonder if they'd change that..

tburger: Good to see another Activision release. BTW - what classic games from Activision are we still missing?
avatar
tinyE: River Raid :D
Greeat idea because it's also indexed in Germany :)
I'm honesly surprised to see so much praise for this game. I remember absolutely loathing it when it was new. Nothing about it feels good. The controls are loose and weightless, the action is shallow and gamey, I didn't care at all for the art direction (graphics design and audio). The way I remember it, if you ignore the graphics it plays just like a mediocre Playstation 2 game.

That's why I didn't buy Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics during the Summer Sale. I know about the patches, but I don't like buying something that has since been censored from the original versions.

I'd be more concerned about GOG implementing true geolocking, to where you couldn't even gift a listed game to a German member. I don't think that's coming, but I can't discount it entirely.

Yeah, I addressed that in the german subforum.

That would be a nightmare.
