The mass production effect

Industry Giant 2, an isometric industry manager simulator, is now available DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 15% launch discount.

A lot of videogames give players the chance to live out their fantasies. For most of us, owning a multibillion-dollar business will never escape that realm so this our best opportunity at becoming a true Industry Giant 2.

Despite appearances, a successful business is a far more complicated affair than simply crunching numbers in an effective manner. You need vision, adaptive thinking, the will to act. There are events out of your control, like economic crises and political events, that can change your business plan overnight. For that to happen, though you first need to come up with one. Do you want to focus on a single product or do you want to expand across different industries? Who will provide you with raw materials, which market should you push them to, and how will your goods physically reach that place? Start from the beginning of the previous century and live through historical events like the prohibition, as you make the harsh decisions that will keep your business going and growing into a self-sustained industry giant.

Choose from a wide variety of products and build your own Industry Giant 2, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 15% launch discount will last until April 14, 1:59 PM UTC.

Please :)

Also, is the first not here because of legal issues or because it has bad reviews on IGN and Metacritic and presumably more?

JudasIscariot: We don't have the Gold Edition hence the reason those wishes are not completed. It's a remastered/polished up version of IG2.
The Gold version is the vanilla version + the add-on 1980-2020 which also adds 3 campaigns. Information about the add-on in German. So one might call it IG2 Gold with better graphics compatibility and resolution options?

Good Old Games at it's best. :) That's what I like on GOG and the community here. Well done, thanks!
Great to see this game has widescreen support for such an oldie.

What was Industry Giant 1 like?
In quill18 video (https://youtu.be/1oX7jx1GX2o?t=46s), he says that he is using the steam version, and that it has the expansions on the campaign menu. The menu shows "Banana Republic", "Rockstone", and "Z-files". Does the gog version have the same expansion campaigns?

Thanks for this re-release :), no extra mods for nvidia-users and now the game finally don't crash... at least in game nothing happen for the last 6 hours.

But the game crashes when you disable the sound (if you set both audio controller to 0), and the profile menu lags...

As i liked the game years ago, I still recommend it :)

"Steam version" is reportedly based on "Gold Edition" which has been remastered including expansion "Industry Giant II: 1980-2020" as one single game. Link -

The original release came with a 'bonus CD' containing a promotional screensaver, wallpaper and over twenty behind-the-scenes pictures. Also soundtrack which is accessible from 'Industry Giant 2\soundtrack' folder as MP3s. Can these be included in a future release?
