A fair few of my collegues have jumped on this wagon, and their opinions are usually rather level-headed, so I'm going to wait a week or so, and ask them what they think of the game in its current state. And then I'll see.

Either way, I have a fair share of games to keep me busy in the meantime, regardless of whether I'll get it after that week, or far far later on.

Sadly, doesn't seem playable on an ordinary(integrated graphics) laptop per Minimum System Requirements. Would be nice if Devs reconsider the limits of low-quality graphical settings to make the game more accessible (more sales).

I abhor it because I got burned with Starbound's beta being blatantly better than the release. I'd rather not have to deal with a tragic disappointment like that again.

They used to, but gave up on that at some point and also call it early access now. Probably for the best to use consistent terminology.

Devs now have the "oranges" to expect one to pay for the "privilege" of being a playtester. In the immortal words of Samuel Goldwyn: "Include me out." QED.
I understand people get burned by Early Access (In Dev) titles all the time, but the experience greatly varies. I've played Early Access games released in a better state, with more polished content than "finished" AAA titles. Manor Lords is one of them.

I think the Early Access experience also depends a lot on the game's genre. Strategy/Management games are a good fit, there's no story to ruin and generally you'll just see it improve over time with new systems, balance fixes and more content.

If you're interested, do a little research into the game and developer before deciding immediately solely based on an Early Access tag. In most cases, especially in the case of Manor Lords, there's more than enough information out there to make an informed decision before the discount ends.
