Better get ready, because Sudeki is available again on GOG!

Beyond the protective walls of Illumina Castle lie miles of pastoral, rolling countryside, though once a serene landscape, the Aklorian forces have transformed the countryside into a charred battlefield. Simply passing through the region is unsafe, as travellers must be ever alert for ambushes.

Now on GOG!
Didn't get this before, will get it now, thanks GOG for bringing it back!
Hey GOG, it would be nice if you could update ALL installers for the game - not just the English one.

This was my very first xbox game. I wonder how it holds up after all this time.
The good son returns home! And the female characters are well... ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Any info on what this update includes? Or is it just a change to the installer that doesn’t add anything to the game itself? I couldn’t find anything, just that the new installer is slightly bigger than the old one, according to GOGdb.

The funny thing is I have so many games back in the days when I payed 5€ every month for Computer Bild Spiele (PC PIC GAMES)

Without internet it was my go to news site for games AND I get great good games.
Prince of Percia, Driver, Freedom Force and of course Sudeki.

Almost all my games on GoG are just bought again Tittles from the magazines.
:)

I own both installers but i am not able to detect any effect ingame... so the game looks and appears the same.

Obviously, the small increase in data size will not improve any texture. The only thing i could think of is some setting related stuff and some additional languages (audio files). However, the UI seems the same and i do not see even more settings. No clue about languages.

The by far largest files are the movie files and second is a BAF. file, a unknown data format which seems to hold most of the game data. The language audio files are about comparable in size at around 1 GB.

I was a bit confused at first, since I thought Sudeki was already on GOG. I don't recall it going away.

I have the game on CD, but I never played it. I wonder if there is any benefit to the version available at GOG.
If you dont play it it seems "useless knowledge", but why not... knowledge does not need to be useful nor any life. Most people think "stuff should be useful" but life itself is sufficient without any use.

Sudeki was "gone" from GOG for several years. I do not know the exact circumstances but very often if a new publisher is taking over many games may become removed. Sometimes, if we are lucky... we may "meet" them again.

I was owning it before the game has been "wiped" from GOG, so i still do own the old installer. Since it was appearing once again i now got the updated installer as well.

Sure, as long as people back up their installer [properly], a game can not be "taken away" from them, not even if a game is becoming removed and the account has been shut down for whatever reason. This is usually not the case on other platforms... yet the second best thing for owning it is a physical disc copy.

I do remember Sudeki well from my time i was playing a bunch of games on my Xbox (the first one... with very big size). It was surely a game i enjoyed... lightweight but good if the mind is not capable of "thinking to much" anymore, simply a game to relax... not a "cruncher".

Although, Jade Empire which i was playing as well on Xbox was surely the more "refined" game with higher complexity. This one is available on GOG as well. Unfortunately the "Fable games", one of the very big games i enjoyed on Xbox... those old days... did not make it to GOG so far and this is something we should bring to GOG at some point.

Other than changing the games promoted in the installer, which would be pretty much a given, I wonder if the old installer wasn't still a... proper one, as in not "Galaxified", seeing as the game was delisted in May 2020. A test might be to see how long each version takes to install, since if the new one takes noticeably longer, that'd likely be it.
Nice to have this one back. I always had a soft spot for this on my RPG-starved Xbox
I did not use a stopwatch, but according to my feelings both installs was pretty fast, faster than average. I do not see any leftovers from Galaxy. Of course i got a performant PC, so i am not the best option "to ask for".

Yeah, 1 system drive, 4 game drive, 2 archive drive... internal only. I certainly do value good storage.

Price? Dont ask... i appreciate it, thats all i need to know.

Yes it is a better deal than a 5090, because a 5090 may burn down a home, while those drives may save my data and boot up every game quick... no hard choice at all.

On a side note, i really got the impression Nvidia was putting every little resource on the AI chips and the datacenter-market while the "leftover-engineers" who barely was succeeding their high school was somehow trying to put a "consumer card" together with a power design so inferior... most of us feel scared even to look at it. Luckily... there has been almost no 5090 (not even 5080) produced anyway... because the almost full capacity Nvidia was able to book at TSMC was used for the "datacenter and whatelse-market".

And i kinda got a few datacenter drives at least... those few that have been "left for me" AFTER the datacenter industry was sufficiently eating away "the big load of it", with some bread crumbs left at a rocket price.

On a positive note, it runs flawlessly in 4k with G-Sync. Was kinda irritated that it booted to 800x600…..until I realized it had a configuration utility.

EDIT: The manual which is available as a download is also located in the install directory. Just an FYI. Many titles here seem to do that.
