Simburgur: That's odd - there shouldn't need to be an installer for it on any platform, it's free and included in the base game. If you have any issues accessing the Crucible content please let us know and we'll look into it :)
Ok, thanks :). I'm still downloading the game now, but I'll look into it a bit later today. I've attached some screenshots with what I'm seeing in the meantime.

Got my Kickstarter Key, and very cool got my Kick Starter Theme pack on GoG too. Well done chaps.

Fortuk: For multiplayer, am I reading it right that there's Galaxy, LAN and direct IP?
avatar
Simburgur: Yup, that's correct. All of these methods are also cross-compatible with the Steam version.
This is the right way to do it.

I wish more devs understood that.
Only 8 catalog entries for a new game? You can do better. :P

Sadly that's for a Dungeon Keeper game. *sigh*

Rather peculiar indeed, in either case shouldn't stop you accessing content as the Free DLC shouldn't need to be on your account to play Crucible we've included it in the base game so people don't miss it on their GOG menus :)

Just to clarify WFTO itself released on April 2nd, 2015. Since then we've released a DLC expansion (Heart of Gold -May 2016), DLC Game Mode (My Pet Dungeon - April 2017 ), Free DLC Game Mode (Crucible - December 2016) and a couple of seasonal worker skins. All the catalog entries are simply to cover these and the bundles which package everything together :)

I can confirm that the Crucible content is present in the Windows version of the game (without having to install any DLC), but then again why wasn't the same approach taken with regards to the Linux installers?

Perhaps one of the blues may answer that, if one strays here by mistake :).

Good to know, thanks :). Unfortunately I can't test if this is the case for Linux as well, but perhaps others will (there are plenty of Linux-only gamers around on these forums).

Thanks for bringing this here, as a huge fan of Dungeon Keeper I've been looking forward to this.

And nice to see some active and passionate developers too.

Haven't got any money at the moment but I'll definitely be picking this up soon.
Woot?
They added LAN and direct IP play!

I had a talk with one of the devs some time ago about the DRM-free version on Humble having no multi-player mode and he told me they want to add it.
Great that it wasn't just hot air but for once someone actually did it!

Kudos to you!

Into the list it goes:

The anniversary bundle doesn't list linux in supported platforms, but has linux min./recommended requirements sections...

So, does the anniversary bundle has also linux installer, and there's just galaxy MP missing? Or there's just windows installer and for linux version I should buy rather the [old] base game (which has linux platform listed)?

LAN and direct IP - multiplayer done right!

avatar
Simburgur: Yep, there's a Linux version but it doesn't support any GOG Galaxy features (as there's no Galaxy on Linux).
And Linux support! The technical execution of this game is top. Thank you guys!

Unfortunately there's also the business side:

Simburgur: Yup, the Anniversary Collection contains all the DLCs.
Edit: Correction: The Anniversary Collection does not include the Worker Skin Bundle. It does include everything else.

That's exactly the mess I hate so much!

As much as I love the Dungeon Keeper games I unfortunately will have to wait for an all-in-one release. Hopefully that will arrive before Galaxy also starts to ruin the Linux games...

Very strange on that front, I'm in the office alone at the moment manning the fort for you chaps and I'm not sure what's happened here. As far as I am aware there should be a Linux version of every package, but maybe I missed a memo. I'll query it asap.

GOG Support might also be able to offer some insight.

Just thought I should reply to this as well on the Worker Skins not being part of the Anniversary collection. We didn't want to inflate the price of the collection with optional skins that people have indicated they wouldn't like in the collection.

As such both here and on other stores the worker skins are sold in a bundle that discounts them as individual products. If you feel like you need them to complete the experience you should be able to purchase them as well and add them to your game :)

On the subject of a complete edition, that's something we plan to do after our final major update (and second major expansion) probably later this year or early next year. Not sure that this point whether it'll include the worker skins as well as complete certainly implies everything. We'll have a think on that and happy to take feedback :)

Interesting registration dates on GOG. :D

So once again the developers already like and support DRM free games for a long time and apparently only the business department has delayed the DRM free release of this game here by more than 2 years.

I understand your reasoning, purely cosmetic DLCs aren't everyone's cup of tea and some might like the option to buy a "complete" pack without it. Making another complete+ pack would probably make the list of versions end up like "Pillars of Eternity".
Imho a "complete" pack with the clear notion somewhere that there is also a purely cosmetic DLC is a good idea although it might annoy some completionists.

As someone who already played Dungeon Keeper 1 before the expansion came out, I'm very happy to see this game here with a Linux port and true DRM-free multi-player and wish all current devs would follow your example in those regards.
