The original is made rather redundant by REmake, which has a PC version.

Most Japanese gaming companies are pro-DRM, so don't ever expect to see any of Capcom's main IP-es here in any major capacity.

Remakes never make original games redundant.
Too often unavailable though.

There's a source next version of Re2 and RE1 that can be ran on modern systems flawlessy.

I actually prefer the original. REmake made me mad. I'm not even talking about Crimson Heads or anything like that. The original had COLORS, REmake doesn't. REmake has Lisa Trevor which I hated (her first appearance "knocks you out" and you wake up in a different spot like she moved you there?) and I hate roaming characters. Also those "boxes" you need to open and discover a "first aid thingy" which you open in order to find a First Aid? Just give me the First Aid. REmake doesn't respect the player's time as well as the original (granted it was for limitations). Don't get me wrong, REmake is a great game (with things I find annoying as heck) but the original I can still play and enjoy every second of it (except the Caves which the REmake didn't fix, it made them even longer).
