I run the game (installed with offline installer) and the game runs with the music and that laughter, but no graphics are shown. Just a black window.

There is no configuration program as there is for other dosbox games here.

Any help?

KeoniBoy: What game?
She says in the title, Return Of The Phantom.

It's the middle of the night here, but I'll try and have a look after work tommorrow.
Works ok in my case.
Try to change the render mode in DOSBOX.

With a certain graphic card driver version I had the same black screens and had to change the output mode.

try
output=opengl

instead of "overlay".

Check the link to your game to see which of the four configuration files is used. You can change all four of course.

Thought it was the "phantom" blank screen being referenced.((;--))

Hmmm, I just downloaded and installed it, and it works fine for me. Do you see anything at all, on the black screen?

Here's a few things you could try. Fingers crossed something works.

- Maybe you get stuck in a 'Pause' mode, somehow. Try pressing the Enter button to get to the next screen.

- Are you seeing full screen, or windowed? Press Ctrl & Enter at the same time, to toggle between them, and see if that makes a difference.

- Press Esc to exit the game out of Dosbox. At the Dos prompt, type 'phantom' again, to hopefully restart the game.

I tried to disable all and enable one of the options for all of the available options, same result (it's near the top in the conf file).

Pressing Esc made nothing appear either. I tried again when the music started playing and I pressed alt enter to go fullscreen and the game appeared. I alt entered again and the window was completely black.

I don't like this, but at leas it is playable in fullscreen.

Thanks for the idea.

Well, that definitly sounds like a problem with the rendering mode. Are you sure you edited the right file? For some reason they added four different ones.

Another thing you can try is to use a different DOSBox alltogether, since the one shipped with our games here is severly outdated.
DosBoxStaging currently seems the way to go.

I'm glad it works in full screen.

Since it works in full screen, try this variation to what I posted above:

- Press alt & enter to get full screen.
- Press Esc to quit the game and get to the Dos prompt.
- At the Dos prompt, press alt & enter to return to WIndowed mode (or not, if you just see a black screen again)
- At the Dos prompt, type 'Phantom' to start the game again (try toggling between Windowed and full screen)

Fingers crossed. ( :
