UPDATE: Hey, still considering what you should get from this fascinating lineup? Well, you'd better hurry - they're going away on Monday!
Here are a couple more greats that our friends at PC Gamer really liked:

There's something sinister but strangely alluring hidden below the surface - every traveler of the Sunless Sea knows it. At least those who survive long enough to discover the dark tales its natives have to tell.

Bulging muscles and square jaws look way better covered in blood. We know it, you know it, the Broforce knows it. All that's standing in their way to it are legions of hapless terrorists and plenty of fully destructible environments. Easy.

But also:
- Spelunky got a rather <span class="bold">glowing 96/100 score</span> praising its challenging but rewarding platforming.
- Samorost 3 was described as "<span class="bold">a warm and joyful adventure through a magical world</span>".
- Legend of Grimrock was hailed as "<span class="bold">a very devoted homage that nevertheless brings back a golden era</span>".
- Satellite Reign left them <span class="bold">entranced</span> thanks to its rain-soaked cyberpunk city and solid squad-based combat.

Gaming is awesome regardless of platform but we'll admit to having a soft spot for PC gaming. Our friends over at <span class="bold">PC Gamer</span> feel much the same way, what with their in-depth coverage of PC games, hardware, peripherals, and pretty much everything there is to know about our all-purpose machine buddies. So it's no coincidence that they went through our store catalog and came up with their <span class="bold">PC Gamer Picks</span> to help us spread the love!

Beating FTL's unpredictable challenges while drifting through the randomly-generated space will take much more than wishful thinking. There are strategic decisions to make, alien technologies to assimilate, and bitter deaths to shrug off. Spoiler alert: it's totally worth it.

Is Her Story reliable? Some of the details are rather sketchy and her behavior seems...odd at best. Watch as many clips as possible and make up your mind on what really happened but don't let her considerable acting skills throw you off.

As always, there's more – including Sunless Sea, Towerfall Ascension, Broken Age, Hotline Miami, Samorost 3, and many other gems!

The <span class="bold">PC Gamer Picks</span> sale will last until April 10, 4PM UTC.

Painted_Doll: ... Or sshould i expect a PewDiePie's / Jim Sterling's favourites promo on the next week ?
avatar
Ricky_Bobby: I shudder at the thought, ... Goat Simulator here we go ... does he (PDP) even play games anymore ?
I mean, he could do a 'PewDiePie looks at paint drying' video and still get 4 million views.
He did one for Humble once, so anything could happen.

On the other hand, I would like to see a weekly promo selected by Jim Sterling.

SpiderFighter: Next time you guys do a PC Gamer Best Of list, maybe pick one from the 90s? :)
July 1997 PC Gamer
avatar
OraEtLabora: Could you show us the list, that was in that magazine issue?
Sorry; I was actually looking for the cover of an older issue that I owned, but found that instead. I think there was only the jpeg on the site. I can pretty much guarantee there was at least one Wing Commander and Doom game in the Top 10 though! :D
avatar
Random_Coffee: Pathologic looks nice.. and I like weird stuff :P Is it worth a grab?
Oh yes...
How does Shelter 2 compare to the first one?
avatar
amrit9037: I want to see PC Gamer Picks GOG Connect.
Me too. There's nothing I'm going to buy from this sale, but theres a couple I already own on Steam that I wouldn't mind here.
Blackguards 2 but no Blackguards 1, Legend of Grimrock 1 but no Legend of Grimrock 2? Hmm...

Other than that it's a good selection of games, though.

Well, yeah, I think the same, that there had to be some games on that list, that are already in the GOG library.

Actually, I did manage to find an old PC Gamer in my attic (well, I found a bunch, but only one was a "Best Of" issue)! Here's their Top 50 from April '94 (Vol 1 No 5) - you'll definitely see some recognizable titles:
50. Unnecessary Roughness
49. Shadowcaster
48. PGA Tour Golf Plus
47. Chuck Yeager's Air Combat
46. A-Train
45. Stunt Island
44. D/Generation
43. Star Trek: Judgement Rites
42. Wizkid
41. NHL Hockey
40. Fury of the Furries
39. Ultima VII
38. Indianapolis 500
37. Jimmy White's Whirlwind Snooker
36. Strike Commander CD
35. The Secret of Monkey Island
34. Wolfenstein 3D
33. Star Control II
32. Another World
31. Alone in the Dark
30. Speedball 2 (GOG doesn't carry the original; link is to the remake)
29. Formula One grand Prix
28. Ultima Underworld
27. Micro Machines
26. TFX
25. Lemmings
24. Sid & Al's Incredible Toons
23. Buzz Aldrin's Race Into Space
22. Lands of Lore
21. Dune II
20. The Chessmaster 4000 Turbo
19. Pinball Fantasies
18. SubWar 2050
17. Flashback
16. Frontier: Elite II
15. Day of the Tentacle
14. Tornado
13. Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
12. Evasive Action
11. Syndicate
10. Space Hulk
9. IndyCar Racing
8. Sam &amp; Max Hit the Road
7. Alone in the Dark 2
6. Civilization for Windows
5. Ultima Underworld II
4. Monkey island 2: LeChuck's Revenge
3. Doom
2. X-Wing
1. SimCity 2000

There's a couple of games I don't remember (TFX and Tornado), but overall it's a pretty solid list, and I'm surprised how many of these games are still playable. Thanks, GOG!
EDIT: Here's what the cover looks like.

All I can say is that given some the games on the list, it does not take much to be a PC Gamer pick nowdays.

OraEtLabora: How is Chaos Reborn? Is it worth for singleplayer?

What about multiplayer? Does it have LAN option?
Worth SP only... I don't think so, although with discount actually yes, duelling against AI is reasonable fun too. And there's even some map exploration SP thing, which I find hard to think about as a regular part of game, but it's trying, you may even like that part, it's not bad or something like that, it's just eclipsed completely by the battles, those are core of the game (for me).

MP - no LAN, only Internet (even private games with friends only), or local computer ("hot seat" mode in older games. Bear in mind the players can't watch others turn - to not see their hand, the game itself will blind the screen upon end of turn of one player, so you just need reasonable friend who will not ruin it by peeking over shoulder).

The single computer battle mode is available also through "offline battle" with most of the choices I believe, although when online and connected to game server you can also later produce some extra equipment for your wizard, etc (not needed for occasional battle between friends, makes sense when played online regularly, to make it not boring after few days).

------

I just came home and saw the main page of gog with the sale banner "PC Gamer d..." ... and I was like "hmm.. yeah, sort of" ... then I reread it...
