JudasIscariot: You mean DEP (Data Execution Prevention)? I had this problem on a Vista machine :) UAC just prompts you to run things as Admin :)
Actually Judas, for whatever reason, the UAC would pause for long periods before bringing up any box. If you turn it off, the installer works promptly again. Not sure why it disliked GoG installers, but back when I was using my old computer, any number of installers would display that issue. Then after turning UAC off, everything worked fine...

In fact, support specifically mentions this fix...
