Before I say anything, you should know I have NOT played either of these games.

Personally, I would go with Pyre.

Wizard of Legend (WoL from now) looks to be very good, but another twin stick shoot em up rogue lite. I'm not saying that is a bad thing, but there are so many of those available and there will probably be more to come.

Pyre on the other hand looks unique in it's 'battles' or whatever they are. Also nice visuals. To me in the similar vain as Transistor, very stylish. Doesn't look like it was made in Flash in like 2008.

Although I will say that if you want replayability, WoL might be better with it builds and stuff.

Some end points.

Pyre
- Unique battles, video here
- Slick visuals
- Possibly more story???
- Looks more interesting and new to me

WoL
- More action heavy
- More replayability
- The usual pixel graphics, not a bad thing per se
- Common gameplay (Gungeon, Isaac)

This may make you more confused as to which to buy, but my point goes to Pyre.

Also oranges > apples. Fight me.

I've just bought Pyre and so far I'm enjoying it. The story it's interesting and the "battles" are quite unique and the art style it's great.

I haven't played Wizard of Legend but I've seen videos and if you like Enter the Gungeon and similar you will like it. However I read that the game is very short (I don't know if thet have added new levels) but nontheless it's very addictive and fun.

Mmm, i have read that it is more like a visual novel than anything and you will skip a lot of dialogue after reading them once or two times, because it will repeat again and again.

But anyway, Pyre surely is more original and audacious in it's design than Wizard of Legend (yes, i also have read that is lacking in content) so just because that...also, cheaper right now (...for the next 3 minutes!)
