You lost the moment you termed it "boycotting", as if buying Bilzzard games is the default state which takes continuous conscious effort not to slide into. At this point you might just buy gamer girl bathwater with the money you saved and get excited for next products.
They have quite a bit to make amends for, before I buy anything of theirs, again.

Hawkbit12: Remember last year? Well around that time I was finally going to buy Diablo. Then the Blizzard boycott happened and I decided not to. It's been a few months and the boycott seems to be forgotten. Should I give it up or keep going?
Buy Warcraft 1+2 and Diablo + Hellfire on GOG and you may boycott Blizzard as long as you want, unless new additions from Blizzard arrive of course ;)

ShadowWulfe: Diablo 3 does not seem worth buying, always online left me always irritated.
I held out for a long time before getting it on deep discount. The always online wasn't ideal, but not a deal breaker for me.

It was fine but not very immersive. Ultimately imo it's not even really an "Action RPG" anymore, just an action game with a variety of loadouts that can be min/maxed.

The story line is somewhere between forgettable and tedious, but they seem to recognize that and let you level via little mini quests.

It's decidedly...kind of ok? But it's really not an RPG at all imo, and the people who said it wasn't really a "Diablo" game weren't entirely wrong.

Other than one Battle Box (Diablo 1 & 2 bundle 2008-ish) i haven't bought any Blizzard games giving them any money.

Sorta up to you. I boycott because they pushed everything being always-online DRM.
For me, they've been going down the drain since WoW. There was a spark of hope with Starcraft 2 but then nothing.

Their games started to interest me less and less over time. Diablo 4 might be the last game from them I'll ever try. They are pushing multiplayer and always online waaay too much.

Just follow your concious. If you want to boycott a company do it, otherwise don't.

If you bought a game from Blizzard in recent times but didn't feel bad about it, chances are high that you didn't want to boycott them in the first place. If you feel bad about your purchasing decision just abstain from buying more games from that specific company in the future. Primarily, and this applies to anything, you as a costumer should just support the companies you personally enjoy and feel comfortable with.

Don't boycott Blizzard here; buy all those classic games, they are excellent!
Boycott Blizzard on their platform, not because it is DRM and mostly online only, but simply because Warcraft 3: Reforged Scam!

phaolo: Fine, but that event wasn't just relevant for e-sports, it made people finally realize how China (Tencent) is able to influence\control many western companies.
The issue was about Honk Kong's rebellion against China's oppressing government and about how CCP's propaganda tried to silence any news about it.
(Btw RIP, now with the Covid19 issue they'll find any excuse to imprison the rebels)

rojimboo: Tencent only owned less than 10% of the company at the time, yet you're saying it influenced Blizz enough to ban the esports dude for his political statement? Or would they have done it regardless, because they want to make as much money as possible and didn't want to piss off a massive market?

Tencent owns Path of Exile dev GGG, yet they were free to do/say whatever they wanted about the situation.

It's not so black and white, all chinese companies aren't evil.
Blizzard were also censoring customers for PC reasons before this.

The only good thing about starcraft 2 was when they started giving it away and the only reason why they did was because they failed to make it into an esport cashcow; funnily enough like the original starcraft was which is in fact 80% of starcraft 2.
Why did it fail so bad then? I'll let you speculate.

Oh and also/// don't you people have phones. :P

That's arguably been their modus operandi since Starcraft 1.

Blizzard is a pioneer in the Online Gaming scene.

As to the boycott. I have ultimately come to accept that Gaming Boycotts are meaningless. Just only buy something that truly interest you.

I am definitely keeping an eye on Diablo 4's development if anything looks good and cautious as to whether its worth it or not.

Shadowlands is looking to be an improvement over Battle for Azeroth, but I am not gonna bother pre-ordering.

But I am not too interested in Overwatch 2 despite the hours I put into the first game.

I was burned by Warcraft 3 Reforged though :(
I'm not really sure about the effectiveness of boycotting games

But then again, it isn't a difficult choice for me- I have bought maybe 2-3 Activision-Blizzard games in my life (*babark just realises he's playing Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines*)

But yeah, I don't think they've really changed their behaviour in any way since last year.

I quite liked the campaigns in WoL and LotV. HotS was mediocre at best though. I don't much care whether a game is generally viewed as a success or failure and especially not when the main metrics are multiplayer and E-Sportiness. It did have a fun single-player experience (at least for me) and it was the last Blizzard game that I truly enjoyed.

You're not the only one. I hated Warcraft 3 Reforged as well. The graphics were really not that impressive. Not like Starcraft remastered. Same here I am also keeping an eye on Diablo 4 as well.
