kokosabre: Got Kyn ( 2 years ago) and Stories ( this summer sale) and both games really disappointed me big time.. alas I got them on GOG and played them through(well I got only 5 endings in Stories - True ending + 4 others) .

In Kyn the crafting could really make stuff easy(and you have to craft using their shitty system). So easy that if you get your whole party with legendary gear the fights are over before you can cast any spell...

Leroux: Stories felt too much like it was copying the idea of Bastion, without really grasping what was fun about the narrator. What few I learned of the story in the beginning seemed muddled and unfocused (first he makes a big promise to his dying mother, than he makes a different big promise to his dying neighbour etc.). And the graphics were pretty ugly (and I'm not usually one to say this about graphics, I like a lot of old and low budget indie games with low resolution or pixel art, I don't mind early 2000's 3D graphics and so on, but I didn't like the style of Stories at all. The screenshots look much nicer than what I saw in-game.)

Steamworld Heist is a nice game though, so good on you for winning it. :)
Well I just finished Steamworld Heist(gosh time flies when you have fun.. and free time) and may end up buying it on GOG for the installer.

Stories its a mixed bag with a lot of meh things in it . Graphics aside, the narrative is... just bad the way its presented: You find truths in the game by getting bad endings but none of this truths actually matter in gameplay or the choices you make. Only difference is that some narative will change a little while playing.
That would have been fine if the game was actually fun to play. 2 hours in I already felt the combat as a chore(only 5 enemy kinds) and the fact that you play through the same maps over and over again isnt helping much. First 2 runs were fun but after that the game shows its true colours.... Tbh Stories reminds me more of Long Live The Queen since in both games you die over and over again until you luck out to get an ending in which you survive.
Well, this is what I ended up going for:

Quake IV
Ryse: Son of Rome
Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty
Adam Wolfe
Recursed

I've wanted Quake IV for forever. Have never played it. Price couldn't be beat.
Ryse looks like a AAA quality 3rd person cinematic fighting thing.
Oddworld - what a beautiful update of one of my favorite old games.
Recursed - I do love me some logic puzzle games. And theis one looks extra juicy
Adam Wolfe - to round out my wallet funds.

I decided against Armello and Darkest Dungeon. Armello still too expensive. Would've meant trading for 3 of the above titles. Darkest Dungeon I realized I'm just not too sold on. I can tell by reviews that people love it. But not sure I would.

The only other option I seriously considered was trading in the lot for either Kerbal Space Program or XCOM 2. And both are just still too expensive for a long involved game that I probably won't get to for another year.

Cheer!
I got Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, and that will be that this sale.
From Steam itself I picked up the crazy cheap discounts on Portal 2 and Left 4 Dead 2. I also had a $50 Amazon gift balance so I did a giveaway of Saints Row 4 and also picked up these for myself --

Saints Row 4
Saints Row Gat Out of Hell
Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition
Clive Barker's Jericho
Rogue Contracts: Syndicate
DLC for Steamworld Heist
DLC for The Bureau: XCOM Declassified
OSTs for Sunless Sea and Fallen London
Dishonored = $2.50
Farming and selling the remaining of my trading cards. :s
Bought Dead Rising 2: Off the Record for my wife and me to co-op and sold the cards to get Aarklash: Legacy.
