Hey everyone!

Just a quick heads-up: in the coming days, you might notice some new elements at the checkout on our store. We're currently testing a few things—so no worries, it's all intentional.

We’ll also be gathering your feedback later on. Thanks for your understanding!

Any writeup as to what to expect? Would appreciate some specifics instead of a vague description.

Thanks.

In this particular case, the vagueness is intentional - it's a test, and we want to see your more or less unbiased reaction.

Its bad to change something like a checkout area as a surprise. Especially if it is a change to link to anything off site. Plus you are missing those opinions from people that have nothing to buy during your test.

Not that your reply to the other user makes me believe such customer opinions matter. As in the dismissive "we are doing it anyway, suck it up".

Yeah, that was the thought behind my question. Checkout specifically is a pretty sensitive area.

Rolling out the change before officially announcing it could cause some confusion/worries. We all know how it is with the visibility of stickied threads on this forum :P
We won't be "checking out" again, since you're now trying, and failing, to extort taxes from a member you have no right to do so. Here are the links to just two online merchants we now buy from, who quite rightly, do not charge taxes to someone who does not reside in their jurisdiction: https://diamond-mind.com/ and https://shop.dksports.com/ ~ Pigs get fat; hogs get slaughtered. QED.
What kind of [redacted] testing do you expect us to do if you spring it on us without properly describing what we're expecting?

Is this the norm of Agile development?

Alright, here's a test: Pick an answer, but I'm not telling you what the question or answer is:
A)
B)
C)
D)

Blink once if Elon is in there attempting to make things more efficient. ;-)
Interesting…

I have a few items in my cart, but I’ll hold off on purchasing them for now as I want to see what you guys have up your sleeve. Thanks for the heads up.

This all sounds very cryptic and bizarre. How are you planning to 'gather this feedback'?
Redirecting the payment process to "http:// alsujjdkfhxx.vip/ update-your-cerdit-card" was unexpected, but worked flawlessly nonetheless. 10/10

Nothing new or special for me. :-(
Nothing new on my end…
« We won’t tell you. » is corporate speak for « You’re not going to like it. ».

So what I am expecting is some A/B testing related to showing extra advertisement during the checkout. My only wonder is if it is going to be other games that are advertised, or totally unrelated stuff like food or cars.

The very announcement is already causing Bias reactions andis making people second guess buying stuff on GOG so you might as well tell everyone what these changes are.
