This one is too good to pass on the occasion,
I’m in for Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun ;)
Great giveaway as always, adamhm!

If it helps to get more people interested in Linux, even better :D

Might actually give the recent Mint release a try - I mean I've been distrohopping recently anyway (from Fedora to Arch to Debian to Void xD)

Anyway, I'm in for:

- Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun
- Infinifactory
I felt like entering this time. I am interested in:

Infinifactory
Bastion

Adam, I admire your efforts on promoting Linux and thanks to you, I have been using Linux Mint more and more now. Actually, I am now only using windows 7 for a few engineering programs that run only on windows.

This laptop is old and about 6 months ago I installed Mint and windows 7 at the same time (dual boot). I am using Mint 18.1 Cinnamon. Today, boot times are.

Starting:
Win 7: 4 minutes 50 seconds ( 290 sec)
Mint 18.1: 70 seconds.

Shutting down:
Win 7: 2 minutes.
Mint 18.1: 5 seconds.

Memory (RAM) Usage on startup:
Win 7: 1.5 GBs
Mint 18.1 Cinnamon: 0,5 GB

So far I can easily say that working on Mint Cinnamon is a lot more comfortable and faster than on Win7.

I also experimented on XFCE and MATE editions on VirtualBox (VB) and XFCE has an amazing performance and configurability. Cinnamon has some amazing tools tho.

I am not sure if you can use same desklets or applets for different desktop versions tho (like xfce or Cinnamon).
Thanks for your work on Linux and the giveaway. I'm in for

Mirror's Edge
Sam & Max Hit the Road
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind GOTY Edition
Thank you as always for your dedication to promoting Linux, adamhm! Your giveaways continue to be utterly amazing, filled with wonderful games - and if I hadn't seen some of your previous giveaways, there's no way I would've believed this one to be "smaller".

I'm in for:
> Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun
> Infinifactory

(Kinda insane how popular Shadow Tactics is with the participants here!)

Engerek01: Today, boot times are.
....
Today the boot speed is not a factor of OS "leanness" anymore. W10 caches lots of stuff, virtually everything - both memory pages and applications, and because of that - it appears to start in 10-20 seconds on SSD, but the memory use is extreme and device wear horrible, and it almost never does a cold start. Can't blame them, because this is what I would also do - if I had to get such a fat whale into the air fast.
Not in. +1 Adam
Bump
Thanks for another amazing GA &+1

I'm in:
Bastion
Mirror's Edge
Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun
Can I up this topic?
Wonderful update that you made. I like the PDF file.
Do you expect to do a follow-up PDF for Wine?
I also like the Free engines part of your post. There is a larger list at
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_game_engine_recreations

I'd be in for Bastion or Mousecraft.

Thank you for your strong support for Linux.
Bump & reminder to check your chat settings to allow conversations with anyone so I can send keys if you win:

I might do one for Wine as well, but if I do it'll have to wait until after the PlayOnLinux one is ready at least
better late than never ;)

This part of the giveaway is now over & keys have been sent out to everyone I can, check your chat to see if you won - however 3 people still need to reset their chat options to allow me to send their keys.

Change "Allow conversations with" to "anyone". I'll keep retrying every so often over the next week before giving up.

Check out the second part of the giveaway here:
