timppu: The original Blade Runner was supposed to take place in 2019, but we can say with quite certainty that it will not be like that in two years.
In 2047 I will be laughing how this newer Blade Runner movie missed the mark totally. Maybe video games will be a bit better looking by then and we will have 16K HDTVs (but no media that supports such resolutions), but that's about it.
tinyE: According to Arthur C. Clarke we've been to Jupiter.
TWICE.
Well, technically, only once. Kubrick sent us to Jupiter, whilst Clarke sent us to Iapetus, a moon of Saturn, in 2001. Jupiter in the film, Iapetus in the book.
It all got fused together in 2010, where it was all Jupiter.
