Broken Sword 2: Remastered (Baphomets Fluch 2: Remastered)

Standalone installer updated:
[Windows] 3.4.3 ⇒ 3.3.0
[Linux, Mac] Version None ⇒ 3.3.0
THE BIG BROKEN SWORD 2 UPDATE YOU WERE WAITING FOR

❶ WIDESCREEN, BUT NOT AS WE KNOW IT
Originally releasing in 1997, and remastered in 2010, Broken Sword 2's "original resolution" was a choice reserved for people with immaculate eyesight who hadn't upgraded to a 4k display yet.
To avoid eye strain you were given a choice of these generous alternatives:
a) AUGMENTED:
--- Before: slightly bigger but still on the smaller side of windowed. Fun fact: this resolution was based on an old iPad format since Broken Sword 2 (and 1) was originally remastered for the first iOS devices.
--- New and improved flavour: Augmented is now a bit bigger, and way more size appropriate for your display!
b) FULL SCREEN:
--- Before: w i d e - once 16:9 took over as an aspect ratio for the average monitor, everyone was just so wide. Screens have since gotten even wider, and some of you were experiencing cropping issues. Not ideal (which is British for "absolutely horrifying"), but the best we could do at the time! Well, that time is OVER!!! You deserve better!!!!!!
--- New and improved flavour: The original game has a lot a scenes with very long background artwork that was intended to make streets and locations that George and Nico are walking around in, feel more continuous. This means we're in a unique position as devs of 90s adventure games, to offer a new full screen experience, that in most places can actually cater to new aspect ratios. WITHIN REASON!!! Some areas do include original artwork that was made to size exactly, especially in enclosed locations, and for those areas we included very tasteful (standard black) sidebars.

❷ ACHIEVEMENTS
Just as the prophecy foretold!!!!
Some of you already noticed that we sneakily added achievements a few weeks ago while testing commenced!! Well testing commenced, and we smashed it!!!!
Enjoy 27 carefully picked achievements.

❸ RECOMPRESSED FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE
FILE SIZE REDUCED BY ABOUT 40%
"How do they do it?" - Glad you asked, read more about it here.

❹ NERDY STUFF OVER BACK TO BANTS

⯈ MENU AND UI REFRESH
1) No more tiny UI!
2) Layout and sizing of buttons now more appropriate
3) Back button is now consistent! No more different buttons that all mean the same thing! Only one.
4) Fancy borders in the main menu, amongst tons of other little spruce ups and additions!!
5) Main menu looks new, because it is.

Oh!! And when you click for characters to walk somewhere, you now get the tippy tappy shoe prints until they're done walking there. When they say Quality of Life updates, this is what they mean! We truly live in the future.

⯈ DIALOGUE FONT
Higher resolution? Higher Font! No more trying to read tiny tiny letters on an already far away screen and feeling old and frail. You are stunning and in the prime of your life and nothing should make you feel otherwise!

⯈ CLOUDSAVES
Ever looked at the sky and thought "Man I wish my gamesaves lived there" - well do we have news for you!!! It's actually even cooler than it sounds, because these cloudsaves can even travel crossplatform between Windows, macOS, and Linux - given you stay in the Steam ecosphere of course. We're not magic. Well, Andy might be.

⯈ NEW GAME ICON
It's really pretty, and follows the beautiful stained glass style we went for when we refreshed Broken Sword 5! BEHOLD;

ENJOY
Hope you enjoy this update, and YES we're already eagerly working on Broken Sword 1. It's next!!!
Thank you all for being so patient with us. It's a delicate process, and a huge task for a team our size. It doesn't mean we don't always do our best! You deserve it, and we love you.

PUSH UPDATE: VERSION 3.3.0
What a handful of testers can find in a few weeks is nothing compared to what hundreds of you can find in mere days. Finding bugs is a lot easier when you have such a passionate community, and some of the documentation you provided was absolutely god-tier feedback! Thank you all so much!!!

These are the things we fixed in the ~10MB update that just came out:

❶ MacOS:
The days of background corruption are OVER ( ...fingers crossed)
We unfortunately can't go into detail why this happed, but let's just call it a very esoteric complier bug. It should now be working, and we rely on you being just as vocal as you have been if it doesn't!

❷ Blue Circle Hotspots
Get that classic Broken Sword feel by turning off Hotspots if you want to: More > Show Hotspot

❸ Music Bug:
This one was at least a little funny; If you set the music volume to 0, closed the game, booted the game again and tried to turn the sound on, the game just crashed. No music for you!! We're here to say yes, music for you. Go on then, you deserve it.

And the award for most dramatic feature goes to
❹ WIDESCREEN:
As so many of you have been understanding and kind about, this game will never ever be *fully* widescreen supported. All we can do is to allow for a smoother and more enjoyable experience, but your mileage may wary based on many factors.

Additional to that we want to reiterate that wide-screen will be utilised in areas that were designed to be scrollable only. In enclosed spaces, there simply isn't any art on either sides, so your black pillars (the stipes on each side of the screen) will narrow for those.

However reading through your posts and comments, there are a few things we could still improve, and we hope you understand that we truly care about your experience, even if you play on a monitor that could double as a hula-hoop.

⯈ Allow widescreen
"One for the purists, really" - Andy
You can now toggle in and out of widescreen: More > Allow Widescreen

⯈ Opening Scene Chaos:
This is one of the reasons it can get messy when supporting widescreen on a game that never thought you could see this much so soon!!!
George is tied down and seated, but because you could already see some of the clickable things ("hotspots", or "blue circles") you weren't supposed to see, when clicking them a completely different animation was triggered - because the game didn't know you were still in the damn chair.
There are a lot of complicated solutions to this, but Andy in his wisdom just turned off the hotspots you're not allowed to see yet. Good programmers add, great programmers delete, and one of the best programmers is Andy who worked real hard on this!!!!

⯈ Black Pillar Bug:
This one was kind of cute to deal with for us; turns out that while widescreen was supported in general, for monitors that were wider than the tippiest of tops allowed for the game went "I am not good enough, I should just go back to what I know best" and went small again.
We gave it a little pep talk and now it believes in itself. If it can't stretch any further it will now start adding black pillars to it's maximum width rather than giving up all together.

Hope you enjoy your little update, and thank you all tons for the sweet and informative Steam Forum posts you all left for us! Let us know if this solved your issues.

Lots of love from all of us at Revolution

Nice to see that after such a long time they still put so much effort in their games. Cheers to Revolution. The link about how to save file space is quite interesting. As expected, most space was gained by audio audio compression.

Same for the demo, except there it's Linux that's missing for the moment.

- Updated translations - extended Spanish translation.
- Updated credits page.

Great, instead of splitting the DX12 version into a separate installer, they just offer one bloated installer that wastes space on my drives. What a moronic decision...

I actually agree in this case ... a DX12 version should not have that many different files however. Doubling the size makes no sense in any way, since sounds and most textures remain the same, the difference should be a couple of binaries. Either they also put in a lot of other stuff or we'll see a updated installer soon. I think they messed something up when uploading the game data.

Elex II seems to be a hilarious sh*t show at the moment.

From the steam discussions I gather the following:
1. the download doubled in size because drumroll... they indeed seem to include two versions of the game, which will both be installed; one for DX11 and one for DX2.
2. the patch also is the wrong one and wasn't supposed to be released
3. they corrected that on steam and GOG should follow, according to below quote. Note that that post was made after you guys posted here, so at the time you posted the correct patch wasn't uploaded yet.
4. steam users are not universally happy with the DX12 version so you might not want to update at all

Zyddie [developer] 4 hours ago
The correct patch is now live on steam.
Sorry for any issues caused by this.

GOG and Epic should follow somewhat shortly.

Tunguska: The Visitation has been updated to 1.56-6.

Update notes from Steam since the previous post in this thread about an update for this game:

Update 1.56-6 Patch Notes
- Fixed an issue with the fusebox in Station 11 not able to be interacted with.

- Now the difficulty setting (% of damage taken by player) also affects how many enemies will respawn after you clear an area. The lower the difficulty setting, fewer will respawn.

- Added some fan-provided English dialogue improvements (thank you necro!)

- Smoothed out the flickering of campfire and broken lamps

Update 1.56-5 Patch Notes
- Fixed issue of hair clipping through helmet for some characters
- Some translation adjustments
- Fixed a bug with one-click ingredient gathering during serum making, where multiple zero-count items are generated in the ingredient box
- Lowered the battery consumption rate for detectors

Update 1.56-4 Patch Notes
- Fixed various bugs with trading, especially if you are an Arms Dealer class. You can also sell with a loss, in other words the trader doesn't have to have enough money to pay your wears, and just pay with whatever they have.

- Added a few UI controls: when opening notes to read, you can use mouse wheel to go to next/prev page, and right click to close the note.

- Fixed some camera stuttering issue

- Here's a big one: you can now press Space to jump. You can jump further if you run or sprint. The direction of jump depends on your movement direction. If you unlock the third perk for Fitness skill, you can hold Space (for 0.25 sec) to do a dive-roll, which goes further than the jump.

There is a lot of changes to the infrastructure, so I might have accidentally broken something that I don't know of... Please let me know if you notice anything strange :)

Thank you! And enjoy the bunny hopping :)

Update 1.56-3 Patch Notes
- Fixed a bug with picking up items while sneaking

- Fixed a bug where the handcar menu cannot be closed

- Fixed a bug with player still able to run (with mouse click) while stamina depleted and over-carrying

- Attacking legionnaires will no longer pop up the window about "important faction"

"Way of The Hunter" DLC Has Been Released!
Update 1.56-2 Patch Notes

Dear Ghoul Hunters,

Thank you all for patiently waiting for me to complete the Way of The Hunter DLC! This DLC allows you to customize your character and build skills with a perk-based skill system! It's good for replaying the game with a new perspective, but if you enjoy RPG style game, you'll also have a good time with the first playthrough with this DLC!

Please note that the core experience is unaffected by the DLC. There's no need to buy it unless you are looking to convert a Survival Shooter experience into a Survival RPG.

As usual, I'm always open to suggestions for the game, so if you have any cool ideas about the skill system let me know :)

Also, following issues are fixed in the 1.56-2 patch:

- Fixed the "grab stuff" animation while crouching. It should look less jarring now.

- Reduced the chance of getting serums from breaking crates (makes more sense)

- Added Close button for crafting station UI

Update 1.56-1 Patch Notes
- Revised Russian translation for the Way of The Hunter DLC

- Fixed a bug with Italian version of Way of The Hunter DLC where increasing a survival skill takes away combat skill points

Update 1.56 Patch Notes
- Fixed a bug where the hidden landmines in Zernaskaya church mistakenly showed up when you return to that area

- Shift + click to move items from chest/dead body to the backpack will now first attempt to merge with existing items in the backpack

- Fixed the repeated noise when opening a locked chest

- Now the game will save the state of loudspeaker that plays propaganda music. If you turn it off, it won't turn it on by itself again

- After you loot a dead body clean, the hover message for it will now indicate that it's been looted and empty

- If the player wears the Veil of Valentin, spiders will no longer attack the player

- The Veil of Valentin (while worn by player or Valentin) will indicate when the shield is active with a visual effect

- Adjusted the hitbox of landmines so it should be easier now to shoot it

Update 1.55-3 Patch Notes
- Fixed another bug regarding automatic ingredient collection with recipe: if the ingredient item in the backpack is less than what the recipe needs, its quantity gets reduced to zero but not destroyed from inventory.

- Added a game option to disable mouse click movement

- Added a sound and notification each time your combat XP or survival XP levels up

Update 1.55-2 Patch Notes
- Fixed a bug where buying item from NPC doesn't reduce player's money

- Fixed a bug where the "ingredients" button will convert premium/superior ingredients into normal ones after collecting them into the serum lab

- Preparing player character model to accommodate different skins (to release next week!)
The new DLC is not availabe here (yet?).

Changelog from reddit:
Changelog - DLC: Cagliostro's Secrets

The patch brings a new expansion to the game with a brand new quest to discover, a whole new level to explore with its dedicated boss, new enemies to fight, and new weapons and outfit to find.

Note: The expansion "Cagliostro's Secrets" becomes accessible once you have progressed past a certain point in the main story. You must have completed the level "Bastille" to gain access to the new content.

The patch also brings various fixes:

- Fixed issues with the Achievements:

* Blacksmith can now be unlocked in NG+ provided you possess and haven't sold your lvl 5 weapons, and the Batons and Wheels are now taken into account for its completion, as intended initially.
* The use of the Oil Burette during its tutorial (before you jump over the first wall when beginning the game) is no longer accounted for and will no longer prevents unlocking the Completionist Achievement, as intended initially.
* Fixed an issue with the dialogues with certain PNJ for the Friend of People Achievement. The speech bubble now appears properly and you can complete the quests accordingly.

- Fixed an issue that could generate infinite Anima Essence.

- Fixed an issue during the character customization scene in a new NG+ run in which closing the game would break the quest progression.

Let's carry on the Revolution, and happy gaming!
Edit: Offline installer download currently not possible (404) @GOG: Could you please fix that?!

Ghost Song updated from 1.1.8 to 1.1.8b

No changelog.

There are changelogs for 1.1.8c, 1.1.8d and 1.1.8e on steamdb, the game has been updated more there, but don't know if they've baked all those into the single update on GOG or if we're lagging behind for now.
I got an update flag just now. For D:OS2.

mrkgnao: I got an update flag just now. For D:OS2.
Would be great if they've fixed it. No flags here yet, though. Don't think D:OS2 has been updated since the end of September, so maybe we'll even get flags for the updates we've missed. That would be especially great.

Terraria updated from v1.4.4.7 to v1.4.4.8

Changelog from the steam forum:

Terraria Version 1.4.4.8 Changes

Changes & Additions:
- Made some optimizations to Mac performance. We are interested in feedback on how successful this is, and if possible, will try to follow up on other areas that also need improvement. For the time being, the most notable examples to test out are on the player creation menu and around mannequins (especially with large numbers of mannequins), but other general performance improvements may be expected. Please let us know if there are any improvements or issues as a result of the optimizations!
- Biome Style buttons on the Camera Mode biome interface now have mouseover text showing what biome they represent
- Right clicking out of search bars in the Bestiary and Research menus will now also exit the search, just like Left Clicking previously did
- Lava Charm and Molten Charm now have vanity accessory visuals
- War Table Banners and Hanging Pots/Hanging Brazier can now be hung from platforms in both the up and down hammered position
- Adding flavor text to Bone Pickaxe
- Added a loading tip and Guide help text indicating the ability to assign/unassign NPC housing
- Reducing the duration that loading tips are present on screen during worldgen/load before scrolling to the next
- Gold Worms, when thrown into Shimmer in critter form, also turn into Gummy Worms, instead of Faelings, the same as if they were thrown in as an item
- Dropping a Sparkle Slime Balloon into Shimmer in item form will now also spawn Diva Slime, instead of it only working when you throw it as a projectile
- Pressure Plate Minecart Tracks are now shown with Dangersense Potion
- Hallowed and Ancient Hallowed Armor no longer transmute into each other in Shimmer. Instead, they decraft into Hallowed Bars

Balance Changes:
Swords with Range Boosting Auras (Excalibur, Horseman's Blade, etc)
- Swords with boosted range auras that hit enemies behind the player will now knock enemies away, rather than into the player

Trimarang:
- Knockback increased from 3 to 4.5.
- Projectile speed and return speed (very) slightly increased. It is now faster than all of the boomerangs that go into it
- Usetime decreased from 22 to 20

Starfury
- Base damage increased from 22 to 25
- Reduce projectile damage from 2x to 1.5x (from 44 to 37)

Bee Keeper and Hive-Five
- Spawned bees can now crit based on Melee critical chance

Night's Edge
- Damage reduced from 42 to 40
- Usetime increased from 21 to 25
- Reduce pierce count from 3 to 2. As the swing actually has 2 projectiles (each of which have their own pierce counter), this is a reduction from 6 to 4 maximum possible hits per swing
- Range of the extended portion of the swing has been slightly reduced

Ice Sickle
- Projectile damage increased from 50% of base to 67%
- Pierce count on projectile increased from 3 to 4

- Sickle projectiles changed to use static immune frames instead of global

- Reduced the benefits from Melee Speed stat bonuses by 25%

North Pole
- Flakes that are very close to each other will now slightly push away from each other, resulting in flake spread when falling

Undertaker
- Damage reduced from 22 to 19 (partially undoing the 1.4.4 buff)

Phoenix Blaster
- Damage reduced from 33 to 30
- UseTime reduced from 17 to 14

Aqua Scepter
- Piercing count reduced from unlimited to 5, like Golden Shower

Snapthorn
- Poison duration reduced from 4 to 3 seconds
- Chance to inflict Poison reduced from 100% to 20%
- Correction: In 1.4.4, the changelog listed that Snapthorn's damage was increased from 18 to 19. This was in error. It remains at 18 damage.

Houndious Shootius
- Increased hitbox size of the projectile

Optic Staff
- Base damage increased from 21 to 24 (Spazmamini's damage is 100% of base damage)
- Retinamini's damage scaling reduced from 1.25x to 1.15x of base damage (still a slight increase due to the increased base)

Frost Hydra
- Projectiles set changed to use static immune frames instead of global

Magic Quiver
- Drop rate increased from 1/80 to 1/40

War Table (and by default, War Banners)
- Increasing drop rate and splitting its drop chance away from War Banners
- T1 Dark Mage now has a 50% chance to drop each of them independently in Classic, and a 100% to drop each in Expert+.
- T3 Dark Mage has a 1/8 chance to drop either independently in Classic, and a 1/4 chance in Expert+.

Sleeping/Sitting in Chairs
- Dramatically reduced the health regen buff when sitting or sleeping
- Sleeping and Sitting are now interrupted by taking damage

Mystic Frog:
- Spawn rate increased
- No longer despawns when attempting to catch it with a net; it instead teleports to a nearby onscreen location
- Bestiary entry changed to more subtly imply how to obtain it

Remix World pre-Hardmode Mimics
- Health increased from 270 to 300
- Defense reduced from 16 to 12

Remix World King Slime Spawns
- Put a stat progression check on King Slime spawns to prevent Day 1 spawns on unprepared players. Will be identical to Slime Rain conditions from normal worlds.

Bug Fixes:
- Fixed an issue that allows lava kills on Blue Slimes to count as valid for spawning King Slime in Remix/Everything seed. They will still count as valid, however, if the player hurts them first.
- Fixed a Dungeon issue where closet and hallways might sometimes cut-off the entrance from above it, resulting in being unable to progress. This should result in, at minumum, less examples of inaccessible Dungeons.
- Fixed a rare issue where the Temple door can rarely generate in a position that is entirely inaccessible from the entrance
- Fixed an issue causing Boulder Traps to generate over chests
- Fixed Royal Gel not working on Golden Slime
- Fixed an issue where Mannequins and Hatracks even remotely near the player would remove your bonus tile placement range from Accessories
- Fixed an issue where Snail-type critters ignored Shimmer entirely
- Re-fixed a change that prevented anti-gravity shifting from kicking you off of mounts when pressing Up
- Fixed Flask particles not appearing on whips
- Fixed an issue where Deadly Spheres could be put into tightly enclosed spaces to dramatically increase their DPS b
- Partially fixed an issue preventing the Grappling Hook hotkey when using Grand Design/Portal Gun, but only when using a mouse for now

- Fixed a number of minor issues with sprites such as the Hardcore Ghost, Chaos Elemental's Glowmask, Research Menu UI Slot, Iron Fence, and Shimmered+Transformed Zoologist
