Loved the original Amiga games. Never liked #1 as much as the sequel, particularly since I've played the latter first.

Anybody else remember that Universal Soldier game that took Turrican 2 and just sprite-swapped shit?

I don't, but thanks for the laugh. :D That image showed a realistic representation of the size difference of Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren. Pretty much the same as in the real life.

Wishbone: The high point for me was the Amiga version of Turrican 2. Fantastic game, and fantastic music. I still listen to the soundtrack sometimes.
I cant agree more. It's a amazing game.
Anyone know why they changed the main character sprite for the DOS version? It looks great besides that.

Not the biggest fan of the first two games but I did give them a vote. I dislike the loose scrolling, lack of invincibility after a hit and that you can't move while using the 360 degree laser because these things really slow the pace down.

Yes, I remember. It's actually the only Turrican game I played through to this day.

Judging from the screenshots on mobygames, it seems like all the graphics were completely redrawn for the DOS release. Everything, from the environments to the main character, kind of looks like general interpretations of what could be seen in the Amiga and Commodore 64 versions.
