Agent-94: As long as Diablo 2 does not have microtransactions or always online DRM like Blizzard's other newer games. I would love to play it in widescreen though..
You can use a fix to play it in widescreen, but that won't help with online since you'll be branded a cheater by the BATTLE.NET system. You can use a Glide wrapper to run it in higher resolutions than the original, but you don't get widescreen with that, unfortunately. That does have the benefit of working online.

paladin181: Act 3 has the best companions in the game. Ice elemental knights that can freeze enemies. In the LoD expansion, you can keep your companions between Acts, and that made for some pretty broken late game with a companion that levels with you and can freeze everything around him.
I realized far too late that I had to make use of those companions. As a barbarian I managed to reach hell difficulty with no non-physical attack (except perhaps some elemental damage on some swords). But then in Act I I ran into a minor boss in a cave that was both immune to physical and, I think, ghostly or something. Effectively the monster was invulnerable. So I realized I had to return to Act III of nightmare difficulty and level up one of those companion something like 20 levels. Decided that was the end of my lvl71 barbarian :P

Nicole28: As long, as they don't meddle with the player's ability to mod or "edit" what they want for single-player in the original Diablo 2
Yeah, I was talking about cheating in multiplayer. It'd be a really low blow to go after singleplayer cheating.

Diablo 2 multiplayer has always had duplication bugs that allow you to create duplicate items. Blizzard never fixed these bugs, so to this day multiplayer D2 is awash with contraband items.
Blackthorne or Lost Vikings remaster when Blizzard?
Happens that yesterday I finally checked out the classic Starcraft, as has been reported already it's DRM-Free and you don't need to create a Blizzard account or anything to play or download + works fine perfectly in Linux with Wine.

Hopefully they'll give Diablo 1 as a bonus when you purchase Diablo II Remaster on GOG. :p
That would be awesome. ^_^
that would be awesome but i wouldn't count on it
Now I'm really torn about this. I mean: I love Diablo 2 and I'm always looking forward to install and play it again, someday, but I hate remasters/remakes and whatnot...
That would be awesome.

But if they remove all the multiplayer cheats and botting, they should rebalance the drop and experience rates. I never got around level 90, let alone reached the level cap.
