maxleod: It means that someone responded to one of your forum posts. Quoted you.
That only applies when the dot is next to "COMMUNITY v". When next to "[USERNAME]", that means a friend has done something through GOG Galaxy.

InkPanther: Well, I think I know what the problem is. It's bugged. I have my profile disabled and yet that menu randomly displays the links and behaves as if I had it enabled.

Edit: The links:

https://www.gog.com/feed
https://www.gog.com/u
Well, THANK YOU. I clicked on the first of your links, and I saw my profile for the very first time. lol. And wow, there was a vast purple dot conspiracy going on in there lol. But... THAT GOT RID OF THE PURPLE DOT. Thank you for that. lol

I guess I'm gonna have to disable my profile if I'm gonna get bombarded with purple dots every time someone sets off an achievement or something. I had no idea there was such a thing as other purple dots. The UPDATED dots in my game library are blue. lol

Anyway, thanks to all for setting me straight. Again. lol

EDIT: Kind of funny that according to my profile, I have 1,661 games, yet have earned zero achievements and played zero hours of all my games. Guess I'm just a collector after all. lol Trust me, I buy them to PLAY, and I shudder at how many hours I've plowed into GOG games. I'm pretty sure it would be enough to be measured in years...

EDIT2: Yeah, I just went ahead and disabled my profile, don't want to risk a purple dot being there permanently again, triggering my PTSD from all the time that old purple dot was stuck up there until they finally "fixed" it.

OldFatGuy:
You're welcome.

For a very long time I thought I was the only one with a bugged menu. >.>

Edit: I don't want to jinx it, but enabling and disabling my profile for a hundredth time finally fixed it?
