Don't know if there's a feature request area of the forums, so I'm posting here.

GOG, can we get functionality where if we login to our GOG account online, and you provide us a way to login with the Steam API as well, you can allow us to compare games that are on our Steam Wishlist, but not our GOG wishlist?

I would like to buy games on GOG rather than Steam whenever possible, but manually checking my two wishlists is a PITA. And sometimes games release on Steam first, and then come to GOG later.

Having an easy function to compare the two wishlists, and add anything "missing" to GOG periodically, would be cool and also probably a way to boost sales, as I'm sure I'm not the only one that would rather buy here.

No on the forums, but on the site: Community Wishlist: Features

Great idea!
Now all you have to do, is to ask/demand the same on Steam.

This is one of those ideas that sound good on the surface, but not so great when you look deeper into it.

The first roadblock or hurdle, is GOG having the time and money and then being willing to commit to something like this. I deem that extremely unlikely, nigh impossible in light of all they currently do and don't do.

Then we have Steam, who are not going to like the idea of encouraging you to buy games at GOG.

Ignoring those first two issues, lets look at what else you would need.

You would need software to check the existence and price of games at both stores. That would no doubt mean accessing both the GOG SDK or API and the Steam API. You might find a site on the web that does that, but I don't imagine GOG or Steam are happy about automated price comparing.
Sign up for https://isthereanydeal.com and link your accounts. Check the settings, profile, and waitlist pages for sync options.

Edit: on a related note, Enhanced GOG provides ITAD integration, but only on game details pages.

I don't think it's that complex? You're overcomplicating what I'm asking for.

I just want a comparison of the list of the games on the user's wishlists, for both GOG and Steam accounts, and a way to see the games that are available on GOG that are on the Steam Wishlist but NOT on the GOG Wishlist (ie missing from GOG wishlist). Price display/compare is not necessary. This is just a tool you run to compare the list of games, and you'd use it to help you see what games you need to manually migrate from your Steam list to your GOG list.

It does not require Steam's cooperation. You simply need to login with your account credentials via Steam API so that GOG can see your steam wishlist. Much like SteamTrades or SteamGifts needs you to login to see what games you own. And I know the Steam API grants access to the wishlist, based on SteamGifts functionality

Some people at GOG know how the Steam API works, because GOG galaxy allows you to login to your steam account to display your steam games in Galaxy

Only thing that may be difficult is "matching" the games from the Steam Page to the GOG Page. Other than a straight title text compare for exact match (which may be faulty with nonstandard characters), I don't know how that would be done
