A labyrinth of right turns.

Come for the adventure, stay for the strategy, RPG, perhaps for a little bit of action why not? This Weekend Sale full of Daedalic games won't let you go astray. Or to sleep. Especially if you start with Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, a tactical gem that will keep you alert as you try to figure out the right maneuvers for your deadly assassins to reach their objective.

Speaking of objectives, how does building a grand cathedral sound to you? Ken Follett's Pillars of the Earth is all about this endeavor, but also medieval politics, personal drama, and fateful decisions for its fascinating cast of characters.

The Daedalic Weekend Sale ends June 25, 10pm UTC.

On another magical note, don't miss our 15% discount on Wizard of Legend, which lasts until July 5.

I'm as big a fan of GOG as anyone, but the difference in price between the $200 GOG sale and the $12 Humble Bundle is astounding. $12 won't even get you Shadow Tactics alone. I realize GOG doesn't set the prices, but this situation is so ugly it's humiliating. If I bought any of these games, I would feel like an exploited idiot. It's insulting. How stupid does Daedalic Entertainment think we are? 3 day sale for $200 on GOG, or 30 days sale at $12 on Humble Bundle? I don't care what the exact details are. The spread is much too wide. and it stinks. I would feel like somebody is trying to rob me if I bought these games.

Yeah, I don't know what they're thinking. I'm really, really interested in Shadow Tactics and might well have bought it even at this price, if it weren't for the fact that I'd be paying double the price of the complete bundle. I'd feel like I'm sticking a "Kick me" post-it on by back voluntarily.

And despite the high prices here on GOG some of their games still do not include the original German language version.

Store prices are never as cheap as Bundles not any site. DRM prices will usually be more than Steam prices. There's good deals here that weren't bundled to.

The adventures that have 90% off are also incredible value for the hours they give you whether bundled before or not. 1954 Alcatraz your paying something like 0.05p an hour to play.
The pricing for the different versions of Valhalla is quite funny.
My strategy is usually this. If I am going to play a game only once or for a short playthrough, I don't mind getting it on Steam, so those humblebundle bundles are great. But if know I will play a game again and again or for a lot of hours, I prefer to pay more to get it drm-free on Gog. In this case, I don't have to do magic to make it work offline, if it is even possible, and that is a bonus. 20 euros for Shadow Tactics Blades of the Shogun on Gog is something I find acceptable.

That's not just the case with Daedalic but also with many others. During the years i've asked few times some devs for GOG key instead of Steam in their bundles and never got their reply (as if they hate GOG or the question i asked). I also asked Humble once and they told me it depends of the devs how they set and which keys they distribute in their bundles.

I just think GOG should have more closer relations with both devs/publishers and Humble Bundle in order to gain more attention. Steam shouldn't be the most common (or only) option.

Most of the games in the Humble bundle came with DRM free versions (and Steam, of course).

Nuthin' like buying a bunch of $2 adventure games I'll probably never play! Woo-hoo!

I am aware of this and wanted to ask. Do these drm free versions get updated? Gog gives me the impression that its versions are more "guaranteed" to get updated. If for example Windows 10 update :p breaks a game tomorrow, will the humblebundle drm-free version get updated or do they release the game once and they abandon it?

It was very hard to resist buying the Daedalic Humble Bundle, but I prefer GOG, and I tend to avoid buying games elsewhere if they're available on GOG. I will buy something else that's not available on GOG, if I must, and get the GOG games I want "eventually". 300+ games purchased on GOG.com in 6 months means probably sooner than later :)

I would have been very pleased to get the same bundle on GOG for the same price, or even a little higher. In fact, my only excuse for not buying the Daedalic Humble Bundle was because I found some bugs on Humble Bundle's site, and I spent the time doing testing and writing bug reports instead. That's fun for me :) I like bug hunting.

I do believe Humble is a bit worse than GOG when it comes to updates. That being said, I don't tend to take note of when a game receives an update on Humble as I am not sure if it is in any way advertised. This is arguably something GOG does better.

EDIT: Looking into it a bit further, I've noticed that you can sort your games after 'Most recently updated', and that the games do list which date it was updated on the download button. I don't know how I've managed to not notice this before.
