Cause steampunk mayhem, build monster-proof cities, twist some criminal arms.

There are very few publishers out there with catalogs as huge or diverse as Activision's, so when it gets the good ol' discount treatment, you know it's shopping time. It's hard to pick out the classiest of the classics but let's take a closer look at a couple of standouts from the star-studded Weekly Sale Vol. 22.

Your SWAT 4 team is awaiting commands, sir: We try and rescue the hostage in the bathroom or neutralize the bogies holed up in the kitchen first? The briefing was clear: This is a four-man operation, use of lethal action is heavily discouraged, casualties unacceptable. All clear? GO GO GO!

Watch technology clash with the arcane, and your choices give shape to a branching storyline in Troika's Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura. But don't watch for too long: A unique world of fascinating antitheses and rewarding role-playing awaits!

But that's not nearly all of them. There are plenty more, including VtM: Bloodlines, Interstate '76: The Arsenal, Zeus + Poseidon, TimeShift, and Conquests of Camelot: The Search for the Grail among others!

The Weekly Sale Vol. 22 will last until July 17, 4PM UTC.

SpiderFighter: Wow, that's quite a leap.
Yeah... Well, I guess it is. You could say the camel's starting to get sick of having straws thrown on its back for no good reason. I do believe what I said and felt it had to be voiced, although in retrospect maybe it wasn't all that relevant to this topic.

Sure, I appreciate the free Jotun, but that's not what's scheduled to happen on Fridays, nor does it prevent what should be happening from happening as well.

SirPrimalform: Well I definitely remember them annoucing the switch to Mondays, but they used to add some extra games on Fridays.
You're (kinda) wrong. I may be misremembering, but what they announced was that (good news!) instead of Weekly Staff Picks on Mondays and Weekly Sale on Fridays they were going to have a weeklong sale starting Mondays, with more games being added on Fridays. Which was supposed to be much better and more convenient for everybody because of... reasons, or whatever.

Since they insist in not having Friday's new additions clearly separated from the list you're supposed to already have gone through on Monday, it's already frustrating enough to waste time hunting for them, but it's even more frustrating to do that and not find any new games at all. I'm not saying GOG needs more giveaways (although they could use better, newer, and especially less misleading ones), they might as well do away with them entirely for all I care, it's not like they're the only store around, and they're certainly becoming more and more like the others every day; but if you say you're gonna have giveaways on Fridays, you better have them or give an explanation of why you didn't. Otherwise, your clients will feel cheated and alienated, which is not what you want (or maybe it is? It sure seems at times like I don't understand business anymore).
EDIT: Eh, maybe I shouldn't get involved in this.

No worries. I've certainly gotten frustrated at some of the decisions they've made over the past couple of years. I believe it's important that companies know what they're customers are thinking. Contrary to popular belief, most unsatisfied customers simply take their money elsewhere; only one in ten will actually complain to that company.
